An astonishing great movie about how Nike was able to rise because of Michael Jordon and Air Jordan.

Sorry, I might just be a sour grapes NBA fan. I think the way Michael Jordan is deified as the almighty God of sports is ridiculous. Perhaps picking a movie that literally worships the ground he walked on was a bad idea on my part. Not helping this viewing is the fact that I don't like Nike either. So, will the biggest most unethical shoe company in the world successfully get the richest NBA star to endorse their product? Well, yeah, duh. Matt Damon's character, Sonny, is also set up as an egotistical jerk that belittles all that don't agree with him. It all boils down to, Nike offered him the best deal. The movie is true to advertising, it is nothing but hot air.

A light, funny movie that tells the story of how a deal gets done, namely how a smaller running shoe company managed to sign Michael Jordan and create a new basketball shoe. It is a story about risk-taking, perseverance, and creativity in a business setting that is fun to watch. You don't have to be a basketball fan to enjoy it!

Damon and Davis gave star studded performances. I felt that the portrayal of Michael was a bit odd. I would have rather had nothing than getting a few awkward shots of an actor with his head turned and a line of dialogue. Nonetheless, the story was wonderfully told and surpassed expectations for someone who does not care for basketball or shoes.

Air is a fantastic movie. It tells the story of Nike and the air Jordan line. It tells me so many things I never would have known. This movie is funny, smart and includes real footage which I am always a sucker for. 94%

Absolutely brilliant. Even knowing the story behind this film, you're still completely engaged from start to finish. Supurbly cast with almost every scene a masterpiece. Ben Afleck, take a bow.

This was an impressively tightly movie. The script (written by an alumni from my old high school LTHS of all people) was such a paged-turner with such a tightly-written script. Every scene meant something and the dialogue did a great job giving us a lot of information and exposition without sounding forced or boring. The characterizations, conflicts, and themes build up naturally and everything ties in together perfectly by the end with nuance about everyone’s decisions (particularly with Matt Damon’s character). Great memorable dialogue too. I can easily see why Ben Affleck and Matt Damon picked up Alex Convery’s screenplay. The direction was very solid from Ben Affleck and Matt Damon with great but subtle recreations of the sports and business world of the 1980s with all the vintage props and video footage shown quickly throughout the film. The cast easily stole the show with such entertaining performances all around from Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Viola Davis, etc. This movie really is a testament to the power of film and how any topic can be fascinating as well as its presentation. Luckily the writing, directing, and acting were all a slam dunk that makes it easily one of the best biopics I’ve seen in a long time.

Super solid movie with a snappy script and excellent performances. For anyone into basketball, shoes, sales or just the legend of Michael Jordan, I think you'll find something to like and enjoy here.

Great movie just an amazing story

Great movie, great acting, great script, great cast, especially if you grew up watching MJ dominate in basketball. All NBA players that came after Jordan should watch this so they can thank him for laying the foundation on this Nike deal and stop talking trash before they've ever accomplished anything in the game.

Fascinating film, would definitely recommend

Wonderful movie with great pacing. Always a pleasure to see Damon and Affleck working together. Once again Viola Davis shines in her role. Great watch for anybody who enjoys "true story" films.

Air is a funny, interesting movie about the importance of believing in what you want to achieve and taking action. The story is heartwarming and uplifting, I wonder how much of it happened as portrayed in the movie. The characters were simply good, basic stereotypes, but it wasn't to clichéd, it worked well. The dialogues were pretty solid and the monologue was amazing. The directing was solid, cinematography was great, editing too. The soundtrack was good not bad except for the unnecessary tracks. There were a few that were played for 15-20 seconds for no reason, just to make time pass. Air doesn't want to be more than it is, a solid, enjoyable and funny movie.

I grew up during the time of Michael Jordan's ascent to greatness in the early '90s. I remember all of the big games throughout his career, but honestly did not know much at all regarding the story how Nike was able to make a deal with Michael for his own shoe line. I thought this movie was great from start to finish. A great cast makes this movie fantastic, and I would put it up there with any of the famous sports movies that have been done over the years. A great movie and worth a watch.

Good performances but overall felt a bit flat / something missing. There are just so many interesting stories surrounding Jordan and this just wasn’t an interesting story to tell. No stakes but an amazing montage!!
