American Chaos Reviews
Would you like to be punched in the face for 90 minutes? Then do I have the film for you!
| Original Score: 2/4 | Oct 12, 2018
[Stern's] goal with the film is not to argue or to condescend but to listen.

Who was Stern's target audience? Surely Democrats don't want to spend 90 minutes relitigating the election any more than Republicans yearn to squander so much as a cent of their entertainment dollar watching liberals whine.
| Original Score: 1/5 | Sep 15, 2018
It's disorganized and erratic, jumping from thesis to thesis and location to location, sometimes seeming to pride itself on adopting a nonjudgmental 'I'm just listening' attitude.
| Original Score: 2/4 | Sep 15, 2018
Basically serves as a chronicle of one liberal's disbelief and disillusionment as election night dashes all of his ideals about the progress he thought our country had made. Almost two years later, though, who needs or wants to see that?

Forget fake news; "American Chaos" is yesterday's news.
| Original Score: C | Sep 14, 2018
Despite lacking a broader, more incisive scope, Stern's film has its share of engaging moments...

Stick with your instincts, good sir. Keep questioning how we got to where we are.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Sep 13, 2018
"Passion beats pragmatism," Mr. Stern says, summing up what he sees on his travels. Indeed, the message here is the same for both sides, for elections to come: Those who harness that passion gain the power.

It plays like a rerun of a dated CNN segment.
| Original Score: 2/4 | Sep 12, 2018
Throughout "Chaos," Stern presents himself as the voice of reason, one that deserves to be listened to with respect, although he never really examines his own assumptions.
| Original Score: 0.5/4 | Sep 12, 2018
Despite... frustrating omissions, American Chaos is a well made film.
