An American Werewolf in Paris Reviews
A guilty pleasure of mine, this movie has some good humour, scary scenes, kind of corny at times, but overall worth a watch.
A very pale imitation of its predecessor drained of all life. Not worth watching.
One of the worst movies ever made. Painfully 90’s in all the wrong ways.
The story wasn't that bad, but the cgi really ruined kept the movie from being better.
Dumb plot holes, laughable CGI, cheap laughs… and hey, it’s fun. It’s also bad… REALLY bad… but it’s *enjoyably* bad, and at the very least, for a “basement party movie”, this one’s worth a lot of laughs.
I absolutely love this flim I grew up on this flim I've watched this flim at least once a year since 1997 and it made me fall in love with the werewolf horror genre then and now it's in 4k
If you watch this movie, expecting it to be like an American werewolf in London, you will be disappointed. It's best to ignore that movie and think of this as its own werewolf movie. This movie is funny, campy, & is 1990s nogastolgoc in every way, especially the music. It takes some ideas from his predecessor while adding new unique ones. It seems sequels can't win If they copy the original too much get faulted for being unoriginal. The biggest downside of this film is the CGI has not aged well over the years I saw this movie originally when I was 12 years old and I loved it, so I may be biased. I also saw it without seeing the first one because I grew up in the '90s, wasn't alive yet for the first one. Because of this - being a young teenager and not being able to compare it to a superior first film. I thought this movie was hilarious, and scary. Some really funny campy scenes like chewing on condoms as chewing gum, and really scary chase scenes, The idea of being locked inside with a pack of werewolves and not knowing it until it is too late when you're being torn to pieces trying to get out the door is frightening. (Blade copied this concept 3 years later and everyone loved that movie.) The film gets hate for the same reasons that it had difficulty getting released to begin with - it tries to incorporate comedy and horror which in the '90s was kind of unheard of. CGI wasn't there yet, (remember matrix 2 in 2002 when they went full CGI neo?) I can't really say any CGI was good in 1997. always use rotten tomatoes but I've never left to review out of laziness. After seeing how poor the reviews were for this, I needed to make a profile. A lot of people didn't like Prometheus the prequel to the alien franchise probably because most were expecting another alien movie and that movie just felt different. I liked that movie because I watched Prometheus not knowing anything about it that it was even connected to aliens. That's why I think it's best to think of this movie as its own movie and not a sequel to American werewolf in London. That movie has a completely different feel to it and is good in its own way.
I loved the first one and I thought this one was pretty fun, too.
An American Werewolf in Paris is a good sequel but I do prefer the original. I first saw this movie at the cinema back in 1997. It's enjoyable, worth a watch.
This is the most underrated hilarious movie meant to be a horror movie EVER. It's so bad it's good. The cheesy lines. The solid 90s setting. It's a don't miss for campy movie fans.
An American Werewolf in Paris - Unrated (1h 45m) 1997 - Comedy, Fantasy, Horror, Thriller 2.5/5 stars The sequel suffered from numerous rewrites and late 90's CGI that just wasn't there yet. I'm a huge fan of Julie Delpy, so I'm sure it's getting some bonus points for her being in the film. The story itself is pretty bland but not entirely terrible. I appreciate the gore factor, although it was inconsistent and went from one extreme to the other. I'd be curious to see what could be done with a modern-day 3rd film. A mix of practical effects and CGI could give the series a story to connect the first two films and wrap it up on a high note.
the ratings for this sequel are freakin hilarious ‼️ How'd they drop the ball so badly when the first one was so good?
An American Werewolf in Paris never got a fair shake. Everyone who watches it does so with mindset of comparing it to An American Werewolf in London. By comparison, Paris is inferior in every conceivable way but that doesn't make it a bad movie. Give this one a shot but do so with an open mind and you may find that it's a pretty fun movie. Certainly not the worst werewolf film I've seen.
Lame cash grab that fails to scare of excite.
Such a fun campy classic. Anyone expecting the special effects to stand the test of time will be disappointed but still enjoyable. I liked it when it came out originally so there's that
bad acting, bad cgi, just a plain bad movie
Terrible horrible cringe sequel to a mediocre movie. Why did they make this movie?
