Awful. This is when some director is known in the cinema meets art sect and they give them the benefit of the doubt. Not only is the movie nonsensical= it's slow and boring. I laugh at all of the positive reviews- you people must not value your time very much if watching this was worth it, hahaha.

It was interesting and had the potential to be something special, like Let Me In. But in the end, the payoff was okay but not fully developed.

Pretty daft film in retrospect - especially towards the end, when I found it downright laughable. Sorry for the actors' talents being so misused.

O filme tem um bom suspense, mantém preso, mesmo com seu ritmo lento, como se estivéssemos lendo um livro de terror. A ambientação é linda, bela fotografia e iluminação. Temos ótimas atuações, mas não dou melhor nota, pois o suspense se perdeu um pouco em seu emaranhado lá no climax e isso me afastou da catarse, mesmo entendendo o contexto, achei que poderia ter feito diferente. Ponto BONUS: podermos ter como protagonista, o lindo do Alec Secăreanu.

Great first effort from actor/director Romola Garai. It's suspenseful and scary without the gore for the most part.

The movie was good ... the plot was maybe expected ....

This is one of the worst debuts of any horror director I've seen. The premise is farcical ("mothers" birthing rat/bats as demons), the pacing is slow, the two story elements don't correlate, the execution is weak, and the reveal is a letdown. The only redeeming factors of this cinematic mess is the acting with Alec Secareanu (Tomaz) and Imelda Staunton (Sister Claire).

The premise was engaging, I think, but the execution was less so. I found this film moved very, very slowly, and it just didn't hold my attention. I think it was aiming for creeping menace but instead just crept.

This movie is the reason I no longer go to the cinema and watch movies.

Glorified revenge flick about self-righteously tricking and torturing someone who did something wrong but is later repentant. Ironically, competent cinematography cannot redeem this petty and sour hate piece about irredeemability.

With more confusion than scares, Amulet leaves viewers with questions that demand answers five minutes after the movie ends, until they go do anything else. So… demons need guardians now? Why exactly? So… he (Alec Sacareanu) did kill it (Anah Ruddin)? Was he supposed to kill it from the beginning? Oh, so he's the… ya know what, I'm doing it again. I had very few notes on Amulet. It wasn't bad enough for me to rage-write, but not good enough for me to recommend or really detail. Imelda Staunton commands whatever scene she's in, maybe they should've given her more than three of them. Skip it.

1/5 stars only. 1/2 star for one jumpscare only. 1/2 more star for showing very delicious food. The rest is rubbish. Haha.

I’m probably spoiled by Ari Aster vision of visual horror movie and it’s story peak - I try to like this movie but it drags i fast forward some scene just to finish it

This movie didn’t have bad acting but it was no fun at all and wasn’t very scary either outside of having a dark feel to it . 2.1

Challenging and fascinating. And pretty f’d up.

Creepy, moves slowly, and at the end leaves you asking wtf did I just watch?! Imelda Staunton makes it worth watching.

Awkward soldier guy rapes old ugly woman in woods. Feels bad. After war he lives in homeless shelter which burns down. Evil lady posing as nun takes him to another house but this time its a place where they cook food that makes men shit bats. Horror at its finest. Takes about 2 hours to get what's going on because there isn't much of a script.

Certainly creatively creepy, especially the end. It was slow during much of the movie, then it gets very weird. The impression it leaves is that someone really doesn't like men or at least thinks they're a lower form of life. Now that I've seen it and know, I probably would have skipped this movie.

What a deep and hauntingly reflective movie, I don't agree with the bad reviews and feel what this movie lacks in jumps and scares is rewarded with validation of the more key elements (completing the story, excellent acting and character development) and constantly pulling the rug from under you in the end. You will see things in this movie and feel things you've never seen in a film before period. Like it or leave it that much is true.

This movie is crap. Literally a dollar would be to much budget to spend on such a boring non interesting film. I think honestly low budget movies are better. I stopped caring about the plot or characters. It does the opposite of sucks you in. I was hoping this was a artsy movie or one with talent. Instead those around either fell asleep or just couldn't wait for the credits to see who stole a hour and 39 minutes we won't get back. Its not even good enough to white my but with. Honestly toilet paper holds more value. I rather take a clever and chop of one finger then the next and though painful may be less painful and more enjoyable then such a crappy movie.
