Analyze This Reviews
Analyze This has multiple personalities and hits the audience with a few fresh jokes but far too many 1970s mafia movie cliches.

Apart from some quick, deft strokes every now and then, the director's comic style is as broad as the movie is shallow.

[De Niro and Crystal] would seem to be perfectly cast as this oddest of odd couples, but something has gone wrong with the comic chemistry.

The work of competent talents who knew exactly where the good-enough line was and didn't feel particularly inspired to push far beyond it.

Billy Crystal comes into his own with a monologue that will just make you howl.

The film is a worthy showcase for De Niro and Crystal to spar.

Buoyantly funny!
| Original Score: A- | Jan 1, 2000
Funny partly because De Niro and Crystal do what we expect them to do, and partly because they don't.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Jan 1, 2000
A witty, smart and knowing picture that marks a kind of return to form for both its male stars.
