Angel Has Fallen Reviews
It presumes itself an intricate and intense thriller, and yet I predicted every plot point, from the real culprit(s) to upcoming lines of dialogue, so effortlessly that I may as well not have even bothered seeing the film before reviewing it.

Silly plot contrivances and head-scratching character decisions end up standing out more than the action. And for a movie like this, that’s not a good thing.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Aug 19, 2022
The narrative through-line is a bit nonsensical... and then Nick Nolte shows up and really changes the trajectory.

...a guilty pleasure for all sides of the political spectrum...
| Original Score: 3/5 | Sep 18, 2021
Perhaps because my expectations were so low, I found myself enjoying the pure action thriller nonsense.
| Original Score: B- | Aug 15, 2021
No suspense, just loud noises. Lots of them.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Jan 31, 2021
As far as film trilogies go, third time is rarely the charm, and Angel Has Fallen is no exception.
| Jan 28, 2021
Sticks to a predictable formula.
| Original Score: 3/10 | Dec 7, 2020
As with the other films in the Has Fallen trilogy, this latest entry is a thuddingly dull exercise in blokey nonsense.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Aug 16, 2020
Hollywood needs to stop force-feeding the audience dry sequels and provide fresh new stories that give the moviegoers value for money.

Every once and awhile, a little junk food cinema is good for the soul.
| Original Score: B- | Jul 8, 2020
Now, this is a poorly made film, but can a good film be made according to this moral framework?
| Jun 30, 2020
How can you pair Gerard Butler and Nick Nolte in a booby-trap-filled compound and not just let them run wild for two hours?
| Original Score: C | Jun 26, 2020
Much more realistic and character driven than the previous ones...
| Original Score: 3/5 | Mar 17, 2020
During the brief moments when Butler is given something to work with, it's clear he's a charming and entertaining performer. Then it's back to the killing.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Mar 3, 2020
Gerard Butler takes viewers on a thrill ride as he fights for his reputation and his life.
| Feb 15, 2020
It's frantic in a way that's far more confusing than exciting, making the action scenes more than a little boring.
| Jan 20, 2020
Over the final half of the film ... I spent more time trying to decide whether Nolte or Freeman is now showing his age more.
| Original Score: B - | Nov 29, 2019
Nick Nolte is perfectly cast as Mike's "off the grid - antigovernment" father.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Nov 26, 2019
Unsurprisingly, you won't exactly be intellectually stimulated here, but you probably won't be bored either.
