Aurora Borealis Reviews
cursed again; jackson couldn't emote his way out of a wet paper bag. did not could not support this film. lewis and sutherland did admirably well in picking up the slack.
Aurora Borealis is a film that I didn't really like because it hits too close to home, to close to reality to the point that although it is well acted, I didn't find it really entertaining.
I really liked this movie, the cast was good, it was a funny and good story told well. very enjoyable
As relacoes entre os personagens sao muito verdadeiras. Gosto disso, de roteiros que tentam simplesmente contar a vida como ela é.
A good script, well performed by a really good cast...including Juliette Lewis (I say this even though I am not a fan). I was very impressed with Joshua Jackson, and Donald Sutherland in this film. The main plot deals with mortality, growing old, and the love of family...all with a touch of saddness, and humor together. Nice movie.
Donald Sutherland just amazes me for the whole show. He is so into the character, and he is so believable. This show really give the twists and turns of a normal young guy, facing the world with his job, his interest, his family and his love.
A subtle, intelligent, well-written drama with a solid cast and great performances. Joshua Jackson is Duncan Shorter, a man who goes through jobs faster than clean underwear but lives a stationary life in Minneapolis. He meets Kate (Juliette Lewis), a healthcare worker assigned to his grandfather (Donald Sutherland in a brilliant performances). Kate is Duncan's exact opposite: her job is permanent and transferable, something she enjoys and exploits by moving frequently, settling never. To Duncan, Kate is lively and exuberant but a dead end, since he can't fathom moving from a place he loves to somewhere else. It takes her insight and his grandfather's 'failing' mind to show him that home is what you make it and encourage him to take chances. The movie handles all of these elements and characters beautifully, presenting a complex look at relationships that treads very carefully between seriousness and melodrama.
Entretenida, romántica, conmovedora con sus momentos cómicos, una historia con decisiones difÃciles de tomar y a la que muchos se pueden relacionar. Me recuerda alguien muy especial para mi.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING! I really like Juliette Lewis too and was really wanting this movie to be good but it was not so much.
NICE MOVIE!!! The volume of humanity expressed throughout the film is just great!!! (Life is so short; we must treasure every tick of the clock!! We've to try new things and chase our dreams to find our passions.) >> I think this is the main message of the movie.
I think it would be really hard to write a good movie. I know because I've seen "Aurora Borealis." Even accomplished actors can't save an average script.
Donald Sutherland is always great, Pacey wasn't horrible, and Juliette Lewis wasn't idiotic. That being said, not a bad movie. The whole taking responsibility for yourself and the "A-Bomb" as they call Alzheimer's are the main topics.
took from this one the overwhelming sense of how it may be to age and/or become less capable physically, while struggling with an active (and possibly randomly decaying) mind. appreciated the varying displays of being in today's world as a geriatric... while also empathizing with a younger person's struggle to care for loved ones that are experiencing difficult transitioning with 'less abilities' and/or 'aging'... bittersweet insight, nonetheless.
