Despite the lack of Bayhem, Bad Boys For Life’s stronger focus on characters and humor help make this sequel feel like a needed evolution for the series.

An action comedy that often becomes dull and redundant as Smith and Lawrence, despite their chemistry, frequent predictable places to catch criminals in the city of Miami. [Full review in Spanish]

It keeps the bickering leading duo in a state of arrested development, like they were doomed to eternally chase a youth that has long since passed them by.

The last shot feels like a call to Hollywood to make more sequels, which sort of ruins the whole "Bad Boys one last time" tagline…

“Bad Boys for Life” teases itself as the final chapter, the end of the trilogy, “one last time“. Don’t believe it, especially in today’s franchised obsessed movie culture.

...a fairly mixed bag that at least delivers bang for your buck even if it doesn't deliver much sense...

Go have a good time... you've got some good chase scenes.

Turning one of the most spectacular expressions of a filmmaker's personality, however toxic, into this generic IP-extending product is still a shame.

Smith is Smith, Lawrence is Lawrence, and they both look really cool when they shoot people, which is exactly what you want out of a Bad Boys movie. Unless, of course, you want a load of rampant misogyny as well, in which case, go watch Bad Boys II again.

The Bad Boys are back for round three. They're not quite so bad, and they're not remotely boys at this point, but they're still good for a few laughs and gunshot wounds.

The wild action scenes that follow tend toward orgiastic videogame style shootouts, particularly the climatic battle, but succeed because the CGI is kept to a minimum and the gunshots are punctuated by Lawrence's quips.

There's little chance that Bad Boys for Life is your favorite in the franchise, but in a year that needed the safety of a warm blanket, this trilogy-capper provided.

A really really great movie [with] fantastic action set-pieces... great humour... heart... soul... [and] story

Even if they are middle-aged, Smith and Lawrence still fly through the air, in slow motion, shooting two guns at once, and drive a Porsche 911 recklessly through the "this time, it's personal" plot of the film.

Bad Boys for Life adds emotional gravitas that wasn't seen in the previous Bad Boys films.

The true MVP here is the screenplay from Chris Bremner, Peter Craig, and Joe Carnahan that elevates this latest guilty pleasure delight far above retreat territory.
