Bandit Reviews
What sets Bandit apart from other heist films is its ability to balance heart-pounding action sequences with an engaging narrative. The screenplay intelligently weaves together a cat-and-mouse game between the Bandit and the detective, keeping the audience guessing at every turn. The chemistry between the two leads is electric, adding an extra layer of intensity to their scenes together.
Cool movie, based on a true story. Light comedy, but what is a Boeing 787 ding in a movie based on the 1980s...?
I just happened to turn on Showtime and saw this movie on. I don't care for Mel Gibson but I was pleasantly surprised by the writing and acting by the lead character. The dialogue was very good and acting good from everyone, actually.
'80s-based, true-crime drama "Bandit" Josh Duhamel (excellent) is a small-time American escaped felon who sets up in Canada where with his attempts to go straight faltering & new serious girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert to support, he becomes an unprecedentedly prolific nationwide bank robber sponsored by organised crime boss Mel Gibson (decent)... but the tenacious po-po (led by Nestor Carbonell (good) & Swen Temmel) are on their trail. Kraig Wenman's screenplay is well paced & engaging (if a tad skewed to laud Gibson's character (probably less likeable in real life) and director Allan Ungar delivers it in slick, bright style. This is a must see for heist movie fans.
A very quotable movie with an epic cast and performances
This has to be Josh Duhamel’s defining role.
Duhamel takes us through a wild true story where you’re wanting the bad guy to do the bad thing and get away with it. Standout performances, writing, and directing, Bandit is a fun watch and fascinating ride
Josh Duhamel plays the main character and he made him believable, a charismatic con artist that looks like he could get away with anything. Mel Gibson has a smaller role but for once he wasn't bad, a thing you could not really say for the last past years. If you like the crime genre Bandit is certainly worth a watch
Really fun and amazing true story. was rooting for Bandit to get away
Bandit stands out with its unique and engaging storyline, supported by a well-crafted plot. Exceptional performances, direction elevates its impact leaving audiences engaged. In a refreshing departure from unnecessary drama, Bandit follows a serious and believable storyline, resonating with viewers seeking substance in the satisfying Heist genre. Robbing banks can be cinematographed into a light, decent and believable movie with great acting. Andrea's (Elisha Cuthbert) remarkable portrayal shines, adding to the movie's allure, despite her limited screen time compared to the protagonist. Robert (Josh Duhamel) himself is sensational and takes the center stage exceptionally well.
Fine movie and Mel Gibson is cool. Liked it.
A really good movie. All the actors are great and Josh should be getting more roles than he does. Gibson= STILL Fantastic. The story was really good too, and True.
I enjoyed it because it was fast paced, had good action scenes and an interesting plot, even though it was obvious a great deal of poetic license was taken. And also, darn hate to admit it, but I am in love with Elisha Cuthbert.
solido dramma poliziesco e una grande interpretazione di Josh Duhamel, l'attore principale
one of the best josh Duhamel movies ever made based on a true story
really liked this, Duhamel fantastic. good script too kidn of a catch me if you can vibe!
Whilst not perfect, and straying a little from the true events on which it is based, it is a charming film about a charming bank robber. I found myself smiling at times during his interactions with the victims of his crime due to his disguises and personality.
Well, it's neither a comedy, though it is partly comical, nor is it an action bank heist movie. It is rather a slightly amusing documentary, movie style, about a guy who actually did rob 59 banks in Canada in the eighties. Josh, clearly more handsome than the real-life bank robber, gives the movie and the character a certain charme, making this movie rather entertaining, though not a "must see". 5 1/2 of 10 points.
Loved it great movie...Mel Gibson delivers with a supportive superb cast.
Fascinating story that kept me wanting to know the outcome. Well directed and despite some small mistakes, this movie entertained. Saw on KLM.
