Barbarian Reviews
The 1st half is interesting, the ending is really bad. And the monster ain't making any sense at all
Screamed out loud watching this movie, clever storyline and greatcjump scares!
A pretty funny take on the usual messed up incestual genetic-monster mess of a human that somehow has superpowers.
Predictable and inconsistent. The only saving grace is their reliance on the anxieties around male predators and who to trust (which, to be fair, they did very well with). Very hard to suspend my belief with this one.
Had good visuals, but the ending disappointed so much. All the tension, and scares were thrown into a bin because of a not well-thought ending.
VERY slow build for a lackluster reveal. The first half of the movie is a very awkward back and forth dialog.
loved this! was kind of slow at first, but the way it all connects and we see the story unfold in the end is so worth it! definitely recommend
The idea for the Resident Evil reboot with a courier in a hospital is bullshit. Enough with mediocre original stories. Base the damn movie on the first games like the fans want. #ResidentEvil #LiveAction #DoItRigh
Unexpected and modern. Tense situations and a creepy story behind. The first half of the movie is absolutely brilliant. Second half is less interesting but still complementary to understand the whole plot. Loved the location and music. Highly recommended!
has some good suspense, quite spooky, but doesn't really add up to anything.
Definitely worth a watch as far as horror movies go on Netflix
Very underrated movie- dark, twisted story. Suspenseful and scary at times but overall a great story and very interesting. Wasn’t expecting a lot and was pleasantly surprised
Really cant fathom why this gets such a high rating. Rottentomatoes is kinda rotten by now
A creepy movie, with some jumps and definite GROSS moments. The big bad in this movie really was a big bad in many ways. I could not stop thinking about how creepy the antagonist was and also how I was really pissed at the sick way in which it came to be. One needs to watch this movie rather than go on spoilers. The main setting was an Airbnb, and it could give chills to people who use the service, what happens in one's nightmares. The later part of the story surprised me as it carried over into an environment outside where I thought it would be. I don't want to have spoilers, so I won't go into details. Yet the acting was solid, some characters lasted longer than I thought and some died sooner. One character shows us the type we hope we would be in these circumstances and the other shows us what we hope not to be. Overall, a fun scary movie!
Barbarian is a standout in the horror genre. The way the suspense builds throughout the story, paired with its unexpected plot twists, truly sets it apart. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, never knowing what's coming next. The film constantly subverts expectations, making it a refreshing and thrilling experience for horror fans.
One of those rides of a movie that are few and far between
Very unique, very disturbing. Not a perfect movie from start to finish but I enjoyed it a lot. Georgina Campbell is a brilliant cast for this role.
How are people allowed to produce something so poor. Critics who say this is anything more than 2/5 are on some psychedelics
Very predictable movie with a very good initial premise, regrettable some of the actions taken by the main characters, many of them take you out of the atmosphere that the movie tries to introduce.
The story develops way too slow compared to the 'surprise' or plot twist we get in the end. Could have used more humor or horror suspense to make this better. The best parts are those of the flashbacks that show how everything started. The actor in those flashbacks is really good, but his role is way too short. It ends as a common horror / slasher picture. Nothing new or special.
