I saw this film back in the 80s, and it was terrible. Since then it has become iconic. It's still a bad movie.

love budget but legit og horror fo show

I don't remember the first time that I saw this film What I do know, was that it was on Comcast cable, late 1980s 'till 1990s. More prominently, I was watching the second more often, because at the time, this was the one coming on cable, more frequently. Now I have the chance to experience it on a streaming service. I still don't understand why the main character Eugene and his twin brother Bilal must of had some type of telepathic connection, when Bilal was scene straddling Eugene's girlfriend, fondling her breasts, and bleeding, while he's in a dream sequence running down the street naked. Anyways, a good horror. Let 's see how much the twins can get along with the neighbor, as well as, their hideout in an apartment.

This movie is great. A horror that won't stop with a sex interest through the telepathetic connection, which could be lustful, thirsty for love or the flesh with a woman. Now the naked other brother, is what I didn't get running down the street. All in all, they took care of each other, until they made a big spectacle, mainly Bilal's fault, and then it all ends. Are they still alive? Only time will tell, when the sequel comes, which is available now.

Touching and stomach turning.

Frank Henenlotter's frenzied imagination sets this oddity apart from your usual exploitative shlock. 'Basket Case' is surprisingly well-constructed and sympathetic.

I don't remember, when I was young, but when I got older, I liked this movie. The psychic connection between Bilal and and his normal brother. I think that the normal brother is dreaming about running naked to where? It didn't make sense. The memory is vague. In meantime, Bilal is at his brother's girlfriend's house fondling her breasts or tits, persay. They even go back to when they first was separated, awesome movie. It looks aged and dated on the DVD version.

Much better second time viewing

Basket Case is really a sleazy horror comedy film for a B film and really impressive non stop animation scenes and shocking comedic violence and really nasty 42nd streets of the 80's.

one of the greatest cult classics of all time and tremendous entry into the world of slashers. the film is set in filthy 80s nyc (an outstanding backdrop). siamese twin brothers ‘duane’ and ‘belial’ seek revenge on the doctors who separated them. the is gore plentiful and the creative kills were fn awesome. director, ‘frank henenlotter’ hit a grand slam on this. a highly recommended watch. if you’re lover of horror this film is a must. 5 🤘🏻’s Up!! @vibez666

Este filme é um típico caso de um verdadeiro clássico trash de terror. Feito com um orçamento baixíssimo, com atores quase amadores, com um roteiro cheio de falhas e situações mirabolantes e uma direção inexistente. Porém a criatividade, a vontade de causar medo e espalhar sangue por todos os lados, além da consciência que não é um bom filme, mas propõe uma boa diversão. Belial, com certeza, tornou-se uma das criaturas mais horrendas dos filmes B. Literalmente, desligue o cérebro e se divirta.

Basket Case is a movie I'd recommend to someone who likes the gross out horror genre. It is low budget and intellectually simple. We are introduced to conjoined twins who got forcefully separated as young boys. Hmm, why didn't their rich dbag dad seperate them at birth before they grew emotionally attached to each other?? The twins are pissed and they go on a murder rampage hunting down the surgeons who separated them. The surgeons have ominously funny names like Dr. Kutter and Dr. Needleman. There is a sense of justice when each doctor and their evil dad are brutally killed. The twins are brothers, Duane and Belial (👈😳). Belial is obviously the hideous looking brother. We can easily feel nothing but pity for him but we must acknowledge that Belial is many times stronger than Duane, Belial can run fast, and he appears to be as agile as a cat. He is small, but that works to his advantage by giving him stealth. Sure, Duane got the looks but he is mild mannered and seemingly weak. When we first meet them it's easy to feel scared for their safety. Duane is such a naive rube in sleazy NYC where he looks like an easy mark. And we assume that the little guy in the basket is even weaker but actually, he's the one protecting Duane. Unfortunately, Belial suffers from human sexual desires and women are mortally terrified of him because he is a monstrosity. Belial acts out in a jealous rage when he telepathically sees Duane having relations with a woman. Yes, they communicate with each other through mental telepathy. There's a cast of silly character actors to add excitement to this horror comedy. Also, there's frontal nudity in this movie so enjoy 😉.

Not by any means anything past decent, but unlike the sequels, at least it has the entertainment value, and it's fun enough to sit through. The low budget of the practical effects only adds to that and is passable, unlike other really bad low budget horror films of the time.

A bizarre early 80's genre classic. Campy, Gorey and super fun.

This is not only a very good - sometimes delightfully repulsive - weird horror film, but also an interesting film in its psychological and ethical aspects. Sensitive viewers may be moved by the two main protagonists, one for his tragic and monstrous situation, the other for his compassion that conflicts with the limits of his own desires, and by their relationship evolving in tension as the film progresses.

This very much reminded me of The Deadly Spawn (1983). Both are tatty horrors based on a silly premise. It is well worth watching though and this enjoyable romp through the trials and tribulations of having a separated Siamese twin that can telepathically communicate, this can be enjoyed by all insane people. This really is silly but it is entertaining. The effects are spot on. The story is spot on. The whole package is great although don't expect anything highbrow.

Just brilliant, Do not miss.

Fun little horror movie. Suffers from a clearly low budget but the gore is great and Duane and Belial make a great duo. Definitely recommend.
