Black Adam Reviews
The storytelling aspect of this film, whilst well thought out and cohesive, I felt was far too complex for a two hour standalone DC feature. Despite a rather impressive cast, the fight scenes and action was lacklustre and unfortunately underwhelming. I also found this film to be rather predictable, myself and the other people watching with me easily predicting the next punchline or trope, clichés being thrown around left, right and centre.
The writing in this movie was so poor that 90% of the time I was just sat with a frown on my face. I've seen my fare share of movies but this was truly awful. The characters would have been good but we got basically sped run into backstories. It felt like they were attempting to make a grittier version of Shazam but didn't follow through with any of the jokes and had half-assed CG violence gore. It relied solely on cameos from other DC actors. And pretty sure The Rock carried the entire movie on his back.
This is such an odd one - the first time I watched it I hated it and wondered why it had even been made. We decided to give it another go and I absolutely loved it!! I don't know what changed or why - but it may explain why at the box office it flopped and now people are loving it on streaming - my advice is give it another go - it's actually an awesome film.
It's not terrible, but the story was uninteresting. I had fun watching it, but it definitely could've been better.
Drags on and on, feels more like punishment to endure as DCU ruins a classic villain and makes him into a moody dullard, rushing several other characters into a clichéd story
Loved it!! Absolutely entertaining and good storyline.
I mean, wtf is this piece of crap?
Solid movie, has some funny moments. worth a watch.
DC really can't find their footing. You have this fight that can be the end fight but its just one fight. You have another fight, again just stretching. You thought the movie is done and its 30 more minutes. You introduce such a great hero with such abilities and you took it from us. Atleast you can consider this movie a light action friday night movie where you won't be bothered to pay attention.
It was one of the best DC movies I ever saw. The antagonist was an interesting choice for someone who wasn't in the DC universe before. It's a great movie.
The Rock is just the Rock
Some say it's a DCU fail, but if you look closely, the filmmakers put a lot of effort and time to polish the quality of the CGI . Sometimes clunky yes, but a definitely huge chunk of the budget of this film went to the visual effects. Even the scoring and sound design deserves praise. Gotta love the plot, too!
Great movie. Most of the negative reviews here are laughable at best.
I love the humor it has!🤣
It’s horrible best part last 3 seconds when Superman comes on. 4.9/10
Watched this movie several times now, loved it every time , prefer this to shazam, always find it funny the critics rate it low 33% but actual audience love it 88%, just goes to show critic ratings mean nothing
Cgi are cool. Fight are heavy. Too much focus on the main character, side character didnt develop well, they are stupid af
