Blade Runner 2049 Reviews

Ótimo filme! Consegue ser melhor do que o original. Belíssimos visuais, ótima direção e uma história fantástica. (avaliação: 8/10)

The opening with Dave Bautista was excellent but after that this movie falls flat on its face. A rehash of the original with a slight twist. After falling asleep for a third time I turned it off and called it after 2 hours. Tim Treakle

This film blew me away, the look, the sound, the cast, the soundtrack, I just tried to find and write some negatives but I was scraping the barrel and trying to find fault where there is in fact none, perfect.

Would have been 5 stars, but I'm not particularly a fan of movies where you need to have seen multiple other movies or videos prior to fully understand the plot. But, regardless of all that it was a pretty good movie.

I put off watching this for 8 years. Never expecting it to live up to it's incredible predecessor, which I saw in the cinema on it's original release and a thousand times since, I had avoided 2049 like the plague. As it was finally leaving Amazon Prime I found myself giving it a go. From the beginning I found myself falling into a dimension like no other, with only echoes of the first film's world. It's a rarity these days to see any story, let alone a sequel, that stands on its own for uniqueness and originality, with the additional bonus of taking you on a journey that is hard, if not impossible, to predict, and yet 2049 does exactly that. I'm not one for spoilers and would advise anyone to watch this blind, without watching any trailers or reading any reviews. Enjoy yourself a great movie.

Superb sequel to the original that expertly carries over the themes, even if it's a bit too long. The cast is excellent, with Ryan Gosling superb as K, a replicant who works a Blade Runner hunting his own kind. He gets great support from the rest of the cast, especially a returning Harrison Ford as Decker, who brings real gravitas as the former Blade Runner. Behind the camera, director Denis Villeneuve expertly carries over the look and feel of the original film, especially in the plight of replicants wanting to be free over servants. The visuals are second to none, with some fantastic visual effects. The one downside is that the film feels too long but it is hard to find what to cut, since every frame is a work of art. Overall, great sequel to a classic film.

This film was absolutely insane. Visually and in other ways. Great story, great cast. The only flaw is that the story for be got confusing at point, but otherwise, I would give it an 82%

Love this movie, masterfully shot. One of the best Sci-fi movies of the decade

A solid sequel, which is rare these days. Villeneuve almost never disappoints. Performance by Bautista was also a pleasant surprise.

Endless slow-paced CGI of predictable post apocalyptic landscapes turns this one paragraph narrative into a 3 hour torture, without a hint of good dialogue, worthy action sequence, or (god forbid!) a single joke. 2049 takes itself way too seriously.

I honestly prefer this "sequel" to the original (any of the versions/edits). Amazing visual effects, story telling, and acting.

It OK. Looks stunning but the self indulgence of the deliberately slow pace, with very little reward just left me a bit hollow. The sheer vision of the original is present, but it's no longer enough to sustain a rather empty story.

A fantastic beautifully shot and perfectly acted film, however, some parts of it do drags slightly other than that the movie is perfect truly a fantastic sci-fi film with great themes and really makes you think about the current time we live in

Really stunning pictures with beautiful lighting that brings back the look and feel of the OG Blade Runner Final Cut.

Bloated and unnecessary, one of those sequels that makes one realise how good the original movie was. So, perhaps not a complete waste of my time after all.

I was a massive fan of the original Blade Runner directed by Ridley Scott. This new iteration had potential, but Harrison Ford seems tired, and the way they wrote Deckard seems out of place. It's like he's a totally different character than the one Ford portrayed in the original. I mean, it's Harrison Ford being grumpy, wearing a t-shirt and jeans, and drinking whiskey. It's not Deckard. In fact, it would have been a better film if they'd left Ford and the character of Deckard out of the story altogether - or only referenced his character as part of historical exposition. Either way, there was a LOT of expectation going into this film, and for me, it just didn't live up to the hype. Would I like to see something new in the Blade Runner universe? Yeah, I'd actually like to see a direct sequel to 2049. And I'd like it to be better. I'm not sure we need Amazon's Prime putting out something that takes place 50 years in the future with 2099.

Cinematic masterpiece, the cinematography was great and most, if not all scenes made me feel immersed into the storyline. The only issues that i have is that its a bit too long for a movie and the story drags on making the whole thing feel pretty slow for people who have low attention spans

01/25: Watched the first 1.5 hours and turned it off. VERY slow & monotone. Couldn't take it anymore.

The best visual effects that I’ve ever seen. You don’t need the newest 77 inch 4k OLED tv to truly appreciate it. I’m convinced every frame could be used as a wallpaper. The plot itself (due to its depth) is hard to understand. Watching the first original Bladerunner is a must to better grasp the protagonist’s emotions. The message of the movie is unique and beautiful, and answers some questions we have about our place in other people’s lives. Denis Villeneuve does not disappoint as usual, even with the public’s expectations for a worthy sequel.

Long --- Slow --- Dreary sets --- Frequent violence --- Expository monologues and little dialogue ---The protagonists are difficult to sympathize with!
