I enjoy the Jason Statham movies. This one is a little more of a Clint Eastwood knock-off.. Not the best since there is not as much action.

If there are 30 Jason Statham films, this one probably comes in at 29 or 30. Nothing new here. Not a typical Statham vehicle. Cop drama that honestly isn’t all that interesting with side plots that go nowhere. Luke Evans was in this film. Can’t figure out why… needed rent money?

Blitz is a strange movie in that a lot of it is genuinely good and deserves praise for taking swings in its approach to the cop drama/crime thriller genres, but wonky editing and (I assume from the random costume/prop changes) unfinished scenes keep Blitz from being great.

Watched this after seeing Beekeeper. This was fairly enjoyable.

A nice straight forward action film that is held together by a realistic charismatic villain who is a serial killer hunting cops and Jason Statham is trying to stop him.

Somewhat goofy in a couple places but an entertaining, fast paced overall good movie that is surprising given what I think are really unfair low scores. It's not going to win any awards but it's an entertaining watch!

A very forgettable Jason Statham action flick, featuring a minimum of the cool stuff on screen that he's known for (martial arts skills and athleticism par excellence). Instead, we get a poor job of writing, a poor job of directing and a poor job of editing which, ironically, is mercifully punctuated with a brilliant performance by Aidan Gillen as the serial cop killer. The only thing that makes this film a worthwhile watch.

Blitz es una de las películas que entran en el sub género "Statham", ya conocemos a este actorazo y lo peculiar de su filmografía, acción que emana testosterona en una primicia sencilla, y esta película cumple con ello. El conflicto de esta película es simple y desde los primeros 10 minutos va directo al grano. Un policía con dudosos métodos de impartir justicia tendrá que detener a un asesino serial que solo asesina a policías, es un misterio sencillo pero eficaz, la trama a medida que se va desenmarañado va creando un suspense interesante a la hora que el asesino se acera a los personajes que hemos conocido. El montaje de la película me parece muy regular, la película se siente cortada y puede llegar a ser confusa en escenas simples de diálogo pareciendo que falta algo en el contexto de las mismas conversaciones que no nos han estado contando. El personaje de Tom Brant es muy vacío, no hay un trasfondo real del personaje o una ambigüedad que resulte interesante, es el arquetípico héroe del día. Y así mismo con todos los personajes; son reducidos a una sola acción para hacer funcionar a la trama con todas las deficiencias de los mismos, pero no se sienten con un trasfondo real que afecte su actuar en el caso de averiguar quién es el asesino, sino más bien se sienten fortuitos para que justamente la trama avance. Pero reitero la película es del sub género "Statham", los diálogos vaya que son poco sustanciosos, pero resaltan el porte estoico que Jason busca impregnar en sus personajes, aunque muchas veces no tengan un propósito real en seguir desarrollando la trama no les quita la genialidad de los mismos. En conforme avanza la trama nos va revelando quién es el asesino y poco a poco sus motivaciones en su actuar, que me parecen lo suficientemente interesantes para justificarlo cómo el antagonista de la película, sus asesinatos son brutales y cada uno lo va volviendo más interesante, es el antagonista que solo busca el caos y resaltar los puntos más bajos de los protagonistas, y lo consigue, es de esas películas en las que el antagonista resulta victorioso en crear caos, aunque la misma trama lo deje en segundo plano. La trama es muy lenta y por momentos aburrida, pero me parece que aciertan a la hora de presentar al antagonista, nosotros cómo espectadores ya conocemos al asesino haciendo que incremente nuestra tensión cuando se acerca a sus próximas víctimas; Barry Weiss me parece lo mejor de la película, aunque la misma narrativa lo deje de lado. En el tercer acto después de ser capturado Barry Weiss es liberado por falta de pruebas en su gran cuidadoso trabajo, no dejó ninguna pista y es prácticamente imposible atraparlo. Siendo Tom Brant quién decide tomar acciones propias y junto a Porter deciden ir a por él y resolverlo a su manera, asesinando a Barry después de colmar la paciencia de los protagonistas. El final de la película me pareció cerrado en la evolución de los protagonistas, no fui fan, ya que creo que sitúan a los personajes justo dónde inició la historia, no siento que hubiera un arco evolutivo en ellos, y no creo que sea obligatorio para que una película funcione, pero la misma trama fue tan superficial que no siento que haya un sub diálogo en el que se indague en ello; siento que solo fue un mal final. Blitz me parece que es una buena película si conoces el cine de Jason Statham, películas sobre cargadas de acción en contextos que resaltan la podredumbre social, pueden ser películas sin una trama que sostenga a la historia por sí misma, pero me parecen fabulosas para pasar un buen rato sin pretensiones, sólo películas de acción simples que cada vez se hacen menos, no siempre más es mejor, a veces solo tienes que enfocarte en una película con las bases estructurales básicas para funcionar.

The plot was not bad but the circumstances were definitely not believable! A lack of time to explain major plots of the story were rushed and overdramatized to a point where one did roll their eyes several times. Made it hard to really get immersed into the film.

Azione pura per Jason Staham che offre un suo classico personaggio duro e rozzo ma altrettanto sveglio e furbo. La storia si lascia seguire senza grandi ambizioni e il villain offerto è interessante e fornisce un discreto contraltare ai "buoni". Discreta qualità per un po' di svago.

Jason Statham is great in everything he is in. I wish all actor were as good as this guy.

Lots of action. Good music. Bastard cop killer gets his due.

Predictable film is a classic character that Jason Statham always delivers

Not an awful movie. Statham is fun to watch - but seriously, the most entertaining part is the opening where he beats up a bunch of thugs with a hockey stick. That is about the best action you will get in this. The badie is passably creepy - not quite Silence of the Lambs or Malcolm McDowell, but good enough. The ensemble cop crew seemed to have a bunch of useless backstories that didn't really advance the plot and just muddied the movie (junkie cop, dead wife cop, gay cop). The gay cop seemed to be there so the writer could make a bunch of gay jokes and then say 'no but really, I respect what you do'. Also, London must have the dumbest cops on the planet. The badie leaves dead bodies and evidence all over the place. The cops all know who he is. Yet, 'we don't have enough to hold him' and the cops tailing him, despite their being TWO of them, don't think to check round the side? Yep, he's been in there all night!

Good tough action movie with enough wrinkles to make it interesting. Dirty Harry with a bit of Clockwork Orange.Not a morality play, accept it for what it as and enjoy it. (Who wouldn't want to smack the Gillen chacter in the face with a tire iron!)

An absolutely appalling film full of badly drawn characters and a narrative that is so full of holes it completely disintegrates.

This was a much better movie than I expected. If you watch this one and London Boulevard, you will have a good time especially with Little finger as the bad guy in this. It's not completely original but it's got a pretty well done story.

"Blitz" is a very pleasant watch, rewarding enough despite being occasionally uneven. Statham is in his element, shooting quotable line after quotable line with his trademark menacing coolness, opposite delicious turns by Considine and Gillen. The script is rather familiar and far from watertight and is characterized by an unfortunate dip in intensity during the final act yet the resolution is satisfying enough and succeeds in leaving a sweet aftertaste of this mostly solid yet minor thriller.
