Blue Iguana Reviews
It is a story seemingly meant to be funny but only fitfully successful in this mission, and way too pleased with its own brand of deadpan wisecracking.

Blue Iguana grates on pretty much every level, a misjudged hodge-podge of ill-defined characters, tired filmmaking licks and an air of general unpleasantness. It also contains one of the worst shootouts in recent memory.

Rockwell and Fox are very funny and very strange together. You get weirdly invested in them.

Who wouldn't want a "Desperately Seeking Susan" meets "Reservoir Dogs"? Alas, this ends up more "The Linguini Incident" meets "The Boondock Saints," an imitation of wan imitations.

A talky comedy caper that manages to travel from quirky to irritating in no time flat.

A tedious mess.

Hajaig and his actors understand how juxtaposition can be endearing.

As a film, "Blue Iguana" takes after the gaudy gemstone that inspired its title. At every turn, it is loud, in poor taste and insultingly fake.

From the characters to the purposely perplexing plot, it's all hollow and artificial to the point of being downright grating.

A kooky, disposable caper that's light on charm and heavy on nonsense.
