Personally I loved the 20-30 minutes of the movie it was so fun the watch I always liked the idea of they got stuck in a deserted island when their boat sank but after that the movie cuts to years later when they are adults the movie gets so boring it's nails on a chalkboard and the characters are that stupid they should have known to just put out the fire by using a bucket but when they reach the island they build a hut and try to survive i like that part of the movie a lot but they should have just take the boat and just find a ship to get rescued but nope they stay there and the Captain Paddy just dies for some reason and then they take the boat to another island and just stay there and then years go by when they are adults and then it just becomes so bad and they made a sequel that's even more shitter this movie its awful personally I think this movie should be a short film i give this film a only 3 out of 10 that means i give this film the Johnthebluehatguy seal of garbage sorry you are not going to San Fransisco.

Classic film with some beauty.

I think there is way too much nudity for people who look like their 14 years old and the ending is a bit dull.

A lot of people are missing the point of the movie. It says it right there on the poster it is a story about love how nature intended it to be. It's simple and shows the beauty of just living which I for one really enjoyed.

Well, I feel like the new critics fail to see the beauty in how little is said… people complaining about a childish script, while these are, in the movie children stranded alone… they get help in the beginning, but how can they language mature, if they are isolated… There are not too many lines in this movie, leaving lots up for interpretation. Like if the camera was pointet at that rock for a reason for example, and you sort of have to be able to interpret a little if this is going to be an enjoyable movie. It is an old movie, and of course that old movie charm is present, making this a nostalgic watch either way.

Could pick 0 if there was an option. Despite Randal Kleiser being an absolutely great Director, this is one of his worst movies. You can tell the hard work put into the making and acting of the film. The music and filming were great, but the actual concept not my favorite. Only recommend watching it to get in the mood or roleplay. Not worth a 2 hour watch.

Movie is stupid, dumb, poorly acted, and goes nowhere, That said, Brooke Shields is soooo stunningly beautiful, She kept me watching.

An X-rated Gilligan's Island, brought to us by the director of Grease...And the movie basically fantasizes about a Garden of Eden scenario between it's leads... 15 year old superstar Brooke Shields, and 18 year old Christopher Atkins; her permed Prince-Adonis...And they're two shipwrecked teens; recreating Paradise on a primitive Caribbean island. And these days the movie is very cringe; with its nude under-age actors. But the movie would have been bad anyway; even if the actors were in their twenties. (See the sequel if you don't believe me!)...Because the dialogue of Blue Lagoon is sophomoric; the acting is weak; and none of this really works. (In spite of the fact that it was a blockbuster. But this wasn't the first lousy blockbuster to hit the theaters, that's for sure!) This movie wasn't really TRYING to be good anyway; it was trying to be titillating and popular; a cheap, soft-focus, Harlequin Romance type potboiler for High Schoolers. So I definitely DON'T recommend this.

O filme não tem uma produção muito boa e um roteiro não muito bem encaixado. O filme deixa muitas dúvidas sobre o enredo fazendo com que o telespectador não entenda muito bem algumas partes, mesmo que não altere muito no filme. Comparado à época, percebe-se que naquele tempo a atuação, imagem e dublagem do filme estavam perfeitas. No entanto, comparado com esses mesmos parâmetros, a produção deixa a desejar. Even when you get past the crazy amount of child nudity, softcore porn, and incest in this it's incredibly boring. And what's worse is how misleading the first 20-30 minutes as you hink your in for a cool survival story among two children which is pretty cool and it works well and moves at quite a brisk pace setting itself up. The problems begin immediately after Paddy dies and it becomes a completely different film. It becomes a weird hyrbid of teen romance and softcore exploitation that is shot nice in an amazing setting and boy does this get WEIRD and uncomfortable at points. The pacing in this horrifcally bad and dissappointing as things just tank off a slow cliff. The editing, cinematography, acting all take a nosedive and become subpar overall. Neither of the two kids are that great of actors, don't have that compelling of characters, and Richard becomes a jerk at certain points. It feels like stuff just happens and we really don't focus at all on them suriving and becomes entirely about incest romance which yes is innocent but is just very creepy and takes up the entire focus. This is a gorgous film to look at, the setting is amazing, lush with colors, and plenty of underwater shots are shot almost like dream sequences, it's all very classy in how it's presented but there is no substance to it and a very trashy subject matter ruins a lot of the enjoyment. Heck we never even get to see them encounter the native people. So that subplot goes nowhere. It really feels like most of the film after that is entirely pointless and is just an excuse to see some underage incest action. MAYBE if it wasn't the entire focus of the film and had more survival elements it would work better but as it is it's weird, it's pointless, and boring more than anything. Skip This.

Film je jako dobro urađen i hteo bih da pohvalim sve glumce režisera na ovom starijem ali vrlo originalnom filmu , sa obzirom da je izašao 1980. godine film je savršen dajem mu ocenu 4,5 od 5.

This romance movie was pretty good. Brooke Shields, Christopher Atkins, WIlliam Daniels, and the rest of the cast did a pretty good job in this movie. The story of the movie was dramatic and seductive. It's about finding love on an island and making it your home. If you haven't seen this movie, you may enjoy it. It's a great movie for couples.

I personally find it enjoyable tbh. It reminds me of the good old times, it's dated now but it's not as bad as everyone says. It's a classic romance nonetheless. I can enjoy it for what it is without expecting too much, even though the romance genre isn't my cup of tea.

Tried to watch this movie and I found it revolting from the beginning. Could not finish. Screw the beautiful cinematography. They show naked kids, kids looking at soft porn, and then cousins falling in love and having a baby. How does no one find this sick??? It's borderline paedophilic.
