Body at Brighton Rock Reviews

Jan 5, 2025

A cliche score, weak character, and lack of storyline direction kept me zoning out of this movie.

Starts off promising seems you are in for lighthearted comedic movie. Nope tonal shift it’s a thriller? Shift does not work. The main character just is ridiculous in her actions to the point of what are you doing now? And the scares and tension are contrived jump scares. The “twist” is not earned or make any sense at all and you are left with wow that 1 1/2 hour movie went by like only 3 hours and what a waste of time. Positive the actress was good the scenery pretty to look at.

This should have been a short film.

I didn't watch a trailer or read any more than the basic synopsis. Based off that and a solid looking poster I gave it a shot. It was very disappointing. I was expecting a tense lone survival movie with a ranger defending herself from a bear. Instead I got a half assed ghost story that never seemed to commit to it's own ideas. If only they had spent the time they did making that poster to finding someone who could act or a writer who knew what they were doing. There was potential there.

A very intense horror movie with a great leading lady. The fear of being alone in the woods with a corpse and wild life is terrifying. Loved this movie. Wish it had a longer running time though.

I would think they give park rangers basic survival training, so this movie is incredibly unrealistic. The main character was so stupid I wanted the bear to eat her by the end! This movie is what you get when one person is given money to film their moronic idea and no one says...wait, that doesn't make sense.

Dumb & boring. 85 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Occasionally tense and a little foreboding, a great story and a mesmerizing setting directed well ultimately doesn't amount to much beyond a bear fight that probably puts Leo's to shame.

I was a Park Ranger so I was willing to give this movie a chance because it involved Rangers. It may be the worst movie I've seen in the last decade. Astonishingly bad.

A stupid summer employee gets lost in the woods, miles away from where she was supposed to be. Unless I'm forgetting a viewing, this will likely be my worst film I viewed of the year. Poorly acted. Worse story. Stupid character. The writers should look up what a bear attack is. And many of the reviewers on RT also reviewed the director's next film positively. Hmm....

A good twist at the end but the beginning of the movie was really boring

What on earth did I watch? The writing is laughable. The main character is so incompetent as a park ranger/outdoor explorer I was almost rooting for something to get her. It was laughable how bad this movie was.

The writing and acting from some of the performers felt amateurish at times. The more interesting plot points (like the portions involving Red) were over very quickly, while sequences such as the poster-hanging and the dancing through the woods at the beginning dragged on. The bear element would have been more intriguing had it been emphasized as more of a threat earlier on. In all, the film had potential, but ultimately fell short of my expectations.

With a more capable actress in the lead role, this film might've made a decent character study, and with a more capable director behind the project, it might have made a tense survival film, but Body at Brighton Rock is neither of these things, and its poor script, poor acting, and poor framing is hammered home with gusto by its horrifically cliché soundtrack. The ending is a special kind of terrible in how extremely predictable and yet completely misplaced it is.

Can't go wrong with Oingo Boino! A park ranger takes a risky role to prove she's not a fuckup. Then it starts to go wrong. The map is lost, then she is. Nice move from fun to panic. There's a nice 70s 온라인카지노추천M kinda retro throwback feel to it, but C21st sensibilities. Her performance is top! Good creation of tense atmosphere as her situation keeps getting worse. Good flick, decent ending, just a slight feeling it could've been something more...

The only way is up from the cheesy bad-온라인카지노추천-movie credits, and what follows is a finely crafted little film touching upon the ancient theme of man versus nature. The pacing is good, and while a forshadowed confrontation is a bit delayed yet realistically short in duration, kind of out-of-left-field twist makes the wait worth it.

Story wasn't too bad. But, some of the actors are pretty terrible....I'm talking like porno-level quality acting.

Jan 10, 2021

Really bad. This was not written by anyone who has been to a state park. The main character had no redeeming qualities at all! Soo poorly written.

I am a huge horror fan so I thought I'd give this indie a shot. Wow, what a mistake. The plot and story are beyond horrendous and the main character, played by Karina Fontes, needs some serious acting lessons. Her performance was so cheesy and overacted that I turned off the film halfway through. Save your time and watch something else.
