Bowfinger Reviews
Filme ruim, o roteiro é fraco, o filme não tem cenas boas, quase o filme todo é fraco, o elenco nao melhora o filme, e não tem cenas engraçadas e nem relevantes, com tudo isso, eu não recomendo esse filme
This satirical comedy film was written by Steve Martin and directed by Frank Oz. Terence Stamp, Eddie Murphy, Heather Graham, Steve Martin, and Robert Downy Jr. (in cameos) are among the cast members. In the film, Steve Martin plays a mediocre filmmaker who is captivated by an extraterrestrial invasion plot. To finance his film, he has saved almost two thousand dollars. He hopes to work with Eddie Murphy, a well-known Hollywood actor who will not be aware that he is being filmed, while having fleeting and incidental interactions with Martin's quirky crew, which includes illegal Mexican migrants and a gorgeous aspiring actress who sleeps with anyone she thinks is involved in the filming. The movie seemed to be fast-paced and joyous, but it lacked the humorous bits that Steve Martin is known for. I have no clue why the movie has garnered so many favorable reviews, other than the fact that the film's plot revolves on filmmaking and other film industry-related narratives that generally please cinema critics. I'd want to be educated on the opposite to my assumptions about the film. Eddie Murphy was unfunny, despite portraying two roles as twin brothers. Perhaps the part was not intended for a comedic performer, since Martin had the character developed for Keanu Reeves. It's watchable, but not so much that you'd regret not seeing it.
An extremely funny, witty and clean movie proving that comedies don't have to be vulgar. A family favorite now for 25 years.
a very funny comedy must watch.
The movie was good funny action packed and loved the actors robert Downey jr also Eddie Murphy great see NOW
Somehow I missed this one when it released and I was surprised how fun and original the story was. Great concept and the characters were great!
Underrated film. Heavenly God!
This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I was laughing so hard at the scene were Eddie Murphy's character is supposed to run across the 134 fwy I almost fell off the sofa. Great satire as well as to the non-morals of Hollywood.
One of the funniest movies I have seen.
A classic that has so much nuance it's still fresh and an enjoyable watch even after 24 years.
Bowfinger is really outrageously funny, smart and great writing is like a movie within a movie making.
"Bowfinger" has no shortage of laughs thanks to the incredibly ridiculous writing/acting from the brilliant Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy. While "bowfinger" isn't perfect the crazy script provides loads of entertainment and laughs.
Another movie about making movies got to love these movies they never make enough movies like this Steve Martin Eddie Murphy and a star studded cast this movie is so underrated probably one of their best movies together you'll ever see
This showbiz comedy was great. Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, Heather Graham, Christine Baranski, Jamie Kennedy, and the rest of the cast did a great job in this movie. The plot of the movie was entertaining and humorous. It's about making a movie in an unexpected way to keep a promise to the cast and crew. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's a must see.
Hollywood is a den of vapid, shallow people who start conversations by asking you what you do, so they can figure out how to take advantage of it. That's not me. That's what everyone tells me after they go to Hollywood to try to make it. And that's the nice version of what they say. Enter Bowfinger, a low-rent Hollywood producer who may or may not have seen better days. Steve Martin plays the lead character who is willing to stoop to any length to get his film made. He calls in every favor from the desperate actors around him, and lies with alacrity. When Bowfinger looks over the script for Chubby Rain - a story of aliens invading in raindrops - he doesn't see a B level movie. He sees a chance to pry bar his way into fame. But he needs a star, and that's where Eddie Murphy's Kit Ramsey comes in. Ramsey is part of a Scientology like religion called Mind Head, which is there to help him take care of his rampant insecurity and socially inappropriate behavior. Since Bowfinger can't convince Kit Ramsey to help him, he decides to film him anyway while telling the rest of his cast that Kit has signed a contract but has an unconventional acting style. When Bowfinger starts casting, he finds Daisy; the literal girl-off-the-bus who just wants to act. Within a heartbeat, Daisy goes from being seemingly innocent to ultimately manipulative, sleeping her way through the cast and crew to get more screen time. Played by Heather Graham, she has three acting jobs to shift between; at first, playing the innocent ingenue. Then playing the woman who will use sex to get everything she wants. Then "acting" in the movie in a way that Heather has to channel every bad actress she has ever run into along the way. She threads the needle with Daisy, between being comical and an actress who's trying her best despite her lack of talent. Its an incredible under-rated job of acting. When Daisy finds out that Jif, an actor hired to play Kit's body double, is his actual brother? All of her body language shifts in one moment to flirt silently with him. The best thing about Bowfinger is the cast. You know that every actor in this film is giving a subtle jab to an actual, real life experience that they have have experienced yesterday. When Daisy and Bowfinger have a excited conversation about their interests that will eventually lead to sex, its as much empty foreplay as you expect every conversation in Hollywood to be. When Bowfinger hires Mexican immigrants to be his crew, they go from not entirely knowing what's going on, to having invested conversations about the craft of filmmaking. And then there's the dog. I won't get into what the dog does in a garage. But it involves high heels, and it was one of the more hilarious scenes I've ever seen in my life involving a dog. I've read a number of reviews that hint at the acidity of the script, and its POV of the world that's based more on looks than actual talent. Its accurate to say that Bowfinger's claws do some heavy damage in taking apart the idea that Hollywood cares about art. And that's its secret. I should also note that Eddie Murphy's portrayal of Kit & his brother Jif is an astounding act in itself. Jif is vulnerable and lovely. Kit is paranoid and unstable. The two parts show off Murphy's range in a better way than all of his acting under makeup and prosthetics have done before. Because both actors look like Eddie Murphy, but are wildly different. Bowfinger is a joy to watch. I'm writing this review because I noticed it in my IMDB 온라인카지노추천 account, and hadn't seen it in some time. 5m in, and I was hooked all over again. In some ways, its much more honest than what LaLaLand was ever meant to be. And for that reason alone, you should watch it.
In one word, this movie is entertaining. It's even close to a perfect movie: some parts drag on a little too long, the campy story and tone may not work for everyone and makes the movie feel dated, and a few of the jokes don't land. Other than those complaints, this is such a fun and light-hearted movie, the run time is just right, and the performances are such a joy to see. Eddie Murphy was by far my favorite part of this movie, with all of the best lines and even having a goofy twin that comes out of left field and fits perfectly in this movie. I doubt this would be your favorite comedy ever, but I think most people would view it as a positive experience and worth the time.
"Underrated"- WTH is up with people?! Its Overrated, by a long shot! I would've expected better performances from Martin and Murphy...
This movie is silly, stupid, and truly entertaining.
Steve Martin just had to make fun of Hollywood and the characters that drive it. This was entertaining and cliche, but that's what makes it so funny. It's a shame I didn't see this sooner. Saw on HBO 2021.
