Brave Reviews
**3 Stars – A Brave Little Tale That’s Easy to Forget** Finally gave *Brave* a rewatch after only catching it once way back when it came out—and honestly? It’s better than I remembered… just not *great*. The Scottish vibes are everything: the accent, the music, the lush world—it all feels fresh and cozy. The voice acting? Stellar. And yeah, there’s a decent amount of humor to keep things light. But even as a Disney fan, I gotta admit it doesn’t really feel like Pixar. It’s missing that emotional gut-punch or layered storytelling they usually ace. There’s a fun plot in here, sure, but some story threads felt like missed opportunities. Like, it could’ve gone deeper or hit harder, especially with that mother-daughter dynamic. Still, it’s a shame how underrated it is—people just kinda forget about *Brave*, and maybe that says it all. Solid, fun, but not legendary. Just... *fine with flair*.
Brave is a very different film from other Pixar classics, it's not bad, it's just average with a mother-daughter message.
Brave is Pixar's most forgettable film yet. I literally cannot remember a single thing from this movie. the only thing I liked from this movie was the animation because it looked gorgeous. the characters were fine, but not good and the story was very forgettable to remember in my OPINION. overall, 4.5/10.
Horrible! Horrible horrible! Need I say anymore?
Brave is a fun watch and Pixar production that is bolstered by its great animation and emotional depth, although it is very predictable and i wasn't so invested into the story as a whole.
Really reasonable to watch - not perfect but still good.
It's Good Enough I'd say and a deep cut Disney classic. It doesn't go the way you think it would after the first 30 minutes where you think your in for a pretty traditonal animated adventure arc. The pacing isn't bad but it just feels off. Again it starts really well and fast right out of the gate. But the story just feels like it's missing certain key elements. The witch is a perfect example. We literally never see her again and she's just ok to begin with. So there really isn't any villian in this save for the Prince Bear which barely counts. And the traditional sweeping arc across grand vistas or incredibly dangerous battles like Fellowship of the Ring. We sort of get part of that. It feels like we get some Mom/Daughter bonding and some comedic relief antics along with the barebones minimum core plot elements to move the story forward. But that's it. Once the Bear turns up...the film completely changes it feels like for better or worse. It comes out of nowhere really and is kind of bizarre and random. I will say everything else is solid about it and the execution does make up for some fleshing out the story issues in the second half. The other issue is Merida is good as a hero but she sort of goes downhill as things go. I do love her red hair design and the animation in general is really well done. But the actual characters aren't that fleshed out and dare I say they could be picked out of pretty much any other Disney film and done better. But they are well acted and animated so it does make up for the character issues. And Merida is a bit on the annoying side as things go on. The story in general is pulling elements from all other animated flicks of the previous 80 years before it and the result is you get something that is very clunky in the second half because of it. But the solid execution does make up for it once again. It's nothing new you haven't seen before and it hits all the beats you think it will. Much quicker than you think too. I'd say if your a big Disney Fan, fan of any actors in this, or animated adventures than give this a try.
Brave is one of the most underrated PIXAR movies and also misunderstood. There's no denying the fact that it's generally good
Not quite the adventure I was anticipating. There were some funny moments when the mother was a bear.
Absolutely terrible. By far the worst movie I have ever seen. Like with frozen this movie is 100% geared towards little girls and unless you are a girl under the age of 10 years old I bet you will hate it.
Stole the best feature film award
"Brave" is a remarkable film from Disney Pixar, standing out as one of their true masterpieces. I find this movie absolutely breathtaking and one of the most captivating animated films I've ever experienced. The enchanting world of Dunbroch and its Celtic princess is so vividly brought to life that it truly makes you wish to be part of it. Merida is an extraordinary princess, breaking the mold of traditional princesses. She embodies strength and independence, showcasing her archery skills and fierce determination, proving that she doesn’t need a man to define her worth. The film also features a delightful mix of comedy and emotion through the dynamic of the king, queen, and Merida's brothers, which enriches the storyline and highlights the powerful bond between mother and daughter. This makes it accessible and enjoyable for all audiences, including boys, without leaning into overly sentimental themes. Notably, she is the first Disney princess who doesn’t sing, adding to her uniqueness. Mordu, the antagonist, is an intriguing character—a bear who was once a man, filled with anger and longing for freedom, rather than a typical villain. The humorous attempts from various clans seeking Merida’s hand in marriage add a comedic touch, while the witch introduces a whimsical element of sorcery that provides lighthearted moments throughout the film. I wholeheartedly recommend "Brave" to viewers of all ages; it's a film that resonates with everyone.
It has a touching story, but the plot is boring and the characters are not interesting at all. This movie is enjoyable, just can't reach up to other pixar movies.
Love the theme humour drama and set in Scotland and has billy connoly in it great film highly recommend it too all age groups
It is a good movie. I like the plot, the animation and the amazing music.
0/10 BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry about that)
Bawled my eyes out. So many messages in this movie.. to start it’s a relevant story about how parents can pressurize their kids about their own wants and how kids often don’t appreciate them and try to change them. This story reminded me to be appreciative and kind to my family and especially my mother. The best disney movie i have ever watched. Touched me deeply.
Brave has an interesting ambientation, but the plot is really boring and characters aren't good. Overall is not a really bad movie but if we consider the other PIxar's movies, it's the worst of all time (currently)
Brave is a brilliant film with lovable characters, and excellent animation.
