Bride of Chucky Reviews

This was so bad. I had a hard time staying awake during this because it was so boring and the jokes were all low hanging fruit. Chucky used to be dark and scary. What happened??

| Original Score: 1/5 | Oct 3, 2024

This was a painful watch. The decision to lean into a more comedic tone felt like a death nail to this franchise. Jennifer Tilly did her best but it wasn't enough to save this.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Oct 3, 2024

Four characters on a road trip with both shared and opposing goals is a core concept that bears fruit in the form of interesting character dynamics, well-paced action, exciting sequences, and deeper themes regarding forbidden love.

| Original Score: 4.5 | Sep 27, 2023

A pitch perfect blend of horror and comedy make this the best entry in the Child's Play franchise. Jennifer Tilly deserves all the praise in the world.

| Original Score: 4/5 | Apr 7, 2021

Between Tilly, an out and proud character in David and the high levels of camp, Bride of Chucky is a quintessential, iconic entry in the queer horror canon. Bless Mancini for constantly reinventing the franchise.

Bride of Chucky strings together a series of humorous asides and knee-jerk shock tactics.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Mar 20, 2019

Bride of Chucky is easily the best of the four-film Chucky franchise, and it's a barmy, witty horror movie full of Scream-like ironies.

Hong Kong action director Ronny Yu... brings a slick, kinetic, cartoonish energy to the proceedings.

| Original Score: 3/4 | Oct 12, 2017

A well-paced, colourfully shot, and keenly edited sequel to challenge the original.

| Original Score: 4/5 | Feb 2, 2014

Bride of Chucky is teen horror for dummies.

| Original Score: D | Sep 7, 2011

The best of the self-aware slasher satires of the late 1990s.

| Original Score: 7/10 | Jul 17, 2011

Grisly, tongue-in-cheek sequel isn't for kids.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Jan 1, 2011

...feels more like a parody of these movies than a natural extension of the world established in part one.

| Original Score: 2/4 | Jan 3, 2008

A hilariously campy and surprisingly diverting horror sequel that's always smartly aware of its own ridiculousness.

Redundant and more than a little wearisome.

The perfect satirical horror. Brilliant observations about the genre, the media and the goth scene. Hilarious, and you actually care about the characters.

Full Review | Original Score: 5/5 | Jul 14, 2003

at least everyone involved seems to have approached the project with tongues firmly in cheek, and for that reason alone, the movie is a whole lot better than it has any right to be.

Any film where John Ritter dies TWICE can't be all bad.
