Cake Reviews
Absolutely beautiful film. Aniston at her best. People try to be edgy by hating but it’s a masterpiece.
Jennifer Anniston & all the cast brought brilliance to this well crafted script - the reality of their tragedies was conveyed without being exploited
Started off okay, but mid-way it just gets lame. Skipped through the last 20 minutes.
I fell asleep watching this. Twice. I don't know if I can fault Anniston - see seemed fine in it. But neither the story nor the characters were compelling and I nodded off. Tried watching the rest the next night and fell asleep again.
This was one of the worst movies I have seen. It had the potential to be good but they must have left most of it on the cutting room floor. In order to like the main character, there should have been some back story on why she was in the position she was. I kept waiting for it to get good. It just did not happen for me. Just awful. I'm surprised they got so many decent named actors to sign on to such a lame movie.
Well acted and an interesting, but sad story.
This movie was oddly enjoyable. I'm not a big fan of Jennifer Aniston but I thought she did an amazing job in this role in a way that was very unexpected. The characters were all likable despite the lack of character development. At the end of this movie, I walked away feeling motivated and appreciative. This never happens as I typically think most introspective movies are ridiculously over-hyped. You know the feeling when you order cake for dessert and it usually doesn't live up to its description, yet every once in a while you'll take a bite and find it's the most perfectly-balanced treat; not too spongy, not over-cooked and dry, but also not doused in decorative items that add nothing to the flavor and are instead only added for aesthetics? Instead it is perfection and even though you loved it, you're ok once it's all gone, but you know you'll never find that perfect piece for several years again? This is that perfect slice of cake and I'm very glad I consumed it.
Excellent. Annistons delivers an astounding performance , one woman's journey though grief and physical pain, it's not a "comedy" although the script is quick witted and comedic elements used to cope with very difficult feelings , and memories. as well as helping the viewer relate. The supporting cast is perfect.
Jennifer Aniston is the only reason to maybe see this as she does a great job in this depressing dramatic role. She would have at least been nominated for an Oscar if she took a tip from fellow thespians Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman and had herself made up as ugly as possible. It was the perfect role to do it, too. Hollywood has little respect for good looking talent... might be jealousy, who knows. However I'll leave my suggestion for her for the next time. The movie itself is not very entertaining otherwise, there is no resolve and I agree with another reviewer that it does shame to the mental health industry, depicting it nothing like it really is. I guess this was done for "entertainment", the movie is also not educational. There is no real resolve so you are left feeling as empty as the victim... oh excuse me the heroine (not).
This felt very made for 온라인카지노추천 on Lifetime, soo bland but what pisses me off is that Jenifer Aniston proves shes got dramatic acting talent but wastes it by appering in endless disposible rom-coms where she plays herself.
Where this production shows weakness is in the producers, director and editor. This story had more to mine from the writing and it was not given to us because the folks behind the camera failed to give all that they could to the excellent cast -- really all around, an excellent cast -- who went out in front and found more than they were given and showed it to the viewer. Aniston shows once again that those who excel at comedy make the best dramatic actors.
I'm a person with chronic depression, taking the most powerful antidepressant that ever existed. And i dint like the very beginning. How people at self support group judge character of Jeniffer when talking about corpse and trailer - not realistic. How they expel her from the group - not realistic. Is not mental sickness dramatic enough for a movie? Why showing it not realistically?
Support groups and suicide... but this still manages to go on to be just about as average as an average movie can be in a clever way, thanks to some good performances. 2 1/2 of 5
Poor Jennifer Aniston gives a academy award worthy performance in a bad film, with a weak script and some unintentionally laughable elements.
I was bored. Felt much longer than 1hr 42min.
Great performance by Anniston. While the movie doesn't elicit the emotions that Claire experiences- we don't cry with her- it fits, because that's all we can do for someone else's pain, be there.
