Candy Cane Lane Reviews
Though it has spectacle, Candy Cane Lane lacks in plot and jokes.
It's a great family movie especially if you're into competition Christmas light shows lol. My family watches it every year. Yall are way too hard on movies for no reason
It’s a cute little adventure. Christmas is suppose to be a family oriented and not complicated. Some people are trying to look for more than that.
Terrible movie Don’t waste your time !
Ken Marino had a relatively small role but did it exceedingly well. The movie was a little too silly for my taste. I generally liked it.
Julian Bell is insufferable and all the jokes are terrible in this movie. My whole family agreed it was ass
This one is a definite watch every year. I am super confused by the low numbers and ratings on this. It’s Magical, has a bad elf and is actually based around Christmas which so many of the higher ranked movies are not. Eddie Murphy and Tracee Elis Ross are hilarious and amazing. I was hoping for a sequel but I think the scrooges on here might have prevented that.
Whatever potential the story had gets lost in a nonsensical ending.
They disrespect Jesus in the beginning of the movie. I stopped watching there.
"Candy Cane Lane" is a lighthearted holiday film featuring Eddie Murphy that aims to bring some festive cheer. While it has its charming moments, it often falls short of delivering the holiday spirit that viewers hope for. Eddie Murphy, known for his comedic talents, isn't in his prime anymore, but he still has the potential to shine in the right role with quality writing. This film shows glimpses of that potential, managing to hit the mark at times. However, much of the movie feels drawn out, leading to moments of boredom rather than the joyful experience one would expect from a holiday movie. While the film has its highlights and could have been a contender for a beloved holiday classic, I found that it lacked lasting impact. The writing and humor just didn’t resonate with me, and by the time the next holiday season rolled around, I had completely forgotten about it. Overall, I didn't dislike the movie, and I would be open to watching it again with someone who hasn’t seen it before. However, it’s not a film I would choose to revisit on my own. Unfortunately, it doesn't possess that rewatchability factor that makes a holiday movie memorable, which is a bit disappointing.
I absolutely love love loved this movie. All of my family and friends loved it as well. We need more Christmas movies like Candy Cane Lane with Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross.
I used $5 in rewards to see it. only paid $1.18. Iliked it.
I was pretty excited to watch *Candy Cane Lane*, being a big fan of Christmas movies and Eddie Murphy, though I kept my expectations low because of the reviews. The plot is actually a really fun and fresh idea, fully embracing the Christmas spirit, which I loved. The CGI and special effects, especially with the talking ornaments, were pretty cool and added a lot to the festive vibe. But, man, the movie is way too long and stretched out. It’s not that it’s boring, but it definitely drags on, and that runtime could’ve been cut down a lot. Sadly, the laughs didn’t really land for me, which was disappointing since I was hoping for more humor. With a tighter, shorter runtime and a few more funny moments, this could’ve been a Christmas classic. As it stands, there’s a lot of potential here, but it doesn’t quite deliver.
Candy Cane Lane gets credit for trying to be original and include classic Christmas cliches. But with all do respect, this Eddie Murphy comedy is a disappointment. All the humour seems forced and the story lacks depth.
I love this movie watching this on the summer hits different I NEED A PART 2 RN RIGHT HERE PLSSSS
no. just no. eddie murphy can do better than this. 2/10
Thought this was hilarious. Kids asked to watch it again in the middle of summer.
My 8 year old really liked it. I thought it was definitely cute for a kids movie. I like the whole premise.
Keeps you interested for the whole movie. Fun to watch. Keeps you in the spirit of Christmas. Put it on the rotation.
