Chopper Reviews
Solid crime caper that is anchored mostly by Eric Bana's brilliant lead performance. Bana made his breakthrough performance with this role, playing Chopper as a complicated criminal, one who stabs a man in the face but then apologizes afterwards. At one point, he even drives a man who shot to the hospital so he doesn't bleed to death. You never really feel sorry for him, as he is a violent sociapath but you are fascinated by him. Behind the camera, writer/director Andrew Dominik delivers an interesting biography on one of Australia's most notorious criminals and never sugar coats what he does. However, its low budget does show and feels more like a 온라인카지노추천 movie over a film. Just an entertaining watch, thanks to Bana's performance.
Eric Bana’s industry premiere masterwork is about as stunning and memorable as many top tier films, but most of those don’t have the replay value or the character charisma as Chopper. Whatever you do, don’t miss this one. Brilliant.
Great criminal movie. True to life. Google the story. Watch his interviews. 4*
I never thought I would rather watch someone relieving themselves, over a movie. It was as though only the 'parkies' (Snatch) were talking through an entire movie. NRJ.
Maybe it is a cult classic or something, but I didn't enjoyed this at all. In fact, it was kind of annoying. The visuals, the story, the rhytm, the editing, etc...
The performance from Eric Bana is compulsively brilliant. Loved it and it makes what otherwise might be a drab watch. Enjoyed this. Watched on DVD.
What great movie. I can highly recommend
The movie understands that just underneath this larger than life persona is nothing more than pathetic desperation. Had Bana been as consistently good throughout his career as he is here I have a feeling he'd been held in higher regard.
Must watch movie, crazy and interesting the whole time.
Eric Bana completely nails it. A brilliant movie full of dark humor that has everything done right and made me surprised by how outstanding it was.
A grimy, strange and disorienting film about a violent compulsive liar which although there is plenty of violence, only shows one murder outside prison and seems to suggest that a large portion of his colourful history is pure invention.
An interesting movie.

Australian crime drama dominated by Eric Bana in a powerhouse performance of the Australian criminal mind, Mark 'Chopper' Read. Bana introduced himself to many Americans who were unaware of his previous comedic background, but quickly became aware of a future star and an absolutely brilliant actor. Brutal and strangely comical.
I found it difficult to get on with this movie as the eponymous anti-hero is just such a scumbag that I really couldn't find anything to engage with. The performance by Eric Bana as Mark "Chopper" Brandon, the real life Australian thug on who's life the movie is based, is extraordinary and I do understand why the film has so many fans. However, it wasn't for me and I found the gut-wrenching violence which is almost casually littered throughout to be too much. There are just some people that I'd rather not know about and Chopper is one of them.
Eric Banas transformation into Mark 'Chopper' Read an Iconic Australian criminal is phenomenal. A spot on representation of the charismatic and intimidating stand-over man.
