Chris Rock: Selective Outrage Reviews
He has become a uncle tom. Kissing the man's ass every chance he gets That is from a white man. Chris, fuck you and the damage you have done. Enjoy the money, for pissing on your ancestors graves.
"Selective Outrage" isn't without some strong comedic moments - you know, the ones where the artist makes an unexpected and on-point connection that tickles your brain. Unfortunately though, those moments aren't the ones prevailing here, for this is an arguably overlong special comprised mostly of far from challenging material, long gaps between punchlines, an insistence on verbatim repetition of phrases and a frantic energy that's limited to the delivery but is absent from the jokes themselves.
This is not a funny man. He's an angry man. A very opinionated angry man who is not worth listening to.
Take a drink everytime Chris shouts the N-word, trust me this special will get better by the second.
Stale and hacky. Chris Rock lacked energy, self-awareness and overall.. talent. An utterly lacklustre performance, rife with misogyny and selective outrage.
Chris Rock appears to be struggling to achieve the leading edge, insightful, hilarious comedy that he'd authored in the past. Hope it's just a temporary slump.
Can you say iconic? I can. Vulgar and offensive with so many F-bombs and P****, D***, and C** uses. But, in between, brilliance.
A welcome return of Chris rock to stand up comedy, very well done!
Just wasn't funny. Chris portrays no intellect in his jokes. He falls back to racism because he has no other angle. Some of the race jokes might give a smile but most are dated - like from the Eddie Murphy era. He hasn't moved with the times like his fellow comedians such as Dave Chappelle or Bill Burr. He's extremely out of touch and when he tries to poke into offensive topics (like Ricky Gervais often does) he's cringy. This got a lot of watch time because Will Smith slapped him. He missed a big opportunity with this forgettable show.
Turned it of after 30 minutes. Not funny and just Chris shouting everything 90% of the time.
He plays the victim that he makes fun of in the first couple mins. Jokes are lame and stories aren't even good. I love his movies and old stuff but he isn't aging well and I feel that the is riding this slap to the end. I believe the slap was BS but honestly he earned it with this one.
Great watch. Painter share there emotions, experience and hence healing in a painting. Artists in a song and A comedian on stage
I thought this was pretty funny for Chris. I was entertained.
Not sure where the jokes were? I try to be a Chris Rock fan but this one didn't help.
Chris Rock is Comedic Gold. This is an awesome special. Exceptionally funny
As usual…insightful, says out loud painful truths and "goes there". Not about agreement with Rock…more like Dada fresh
Turned it off when he started making fun of social media. We know intricate details about this man's childhood, but he makes fun of people for caring about each other? It made me instantly say, just like you don't care about the politics of yoga pants, I don't care what some rich guy thinks about the world who can't even make me laugh anymore.
Absolutely brilliant social commentary! Love the story about his daughter! 👏🏻 🥰😂
