Christopher Robin Reviews
Disney has made another uninspired live-action version of a heartwarming character by relying on derivative ideas, and the result amounts to an unabashed cash-grab dependent on name-brand awareness.

You're going to feel like a kid again, and you're going to leave a wiser adult.

Children might not get it, although I'm sure they will enjoy the stuffed characters, but adults will understand the curious tale about the importance of old friends and embracing the inner child.

Christopher Robin takes us into Hundred Acre Wood for the first time in a grand live-action scale.

Christopher Robin's attempt to bring Milne's classic stories into the adult world collapses in a resolution that even a child would recognize as insultingly simplistic.

Failures in cohesion and storytelling sensibilities abound.

An endearing movie for the whole family.

It's a film that will mostly make you long for a more traditional Pooh tale.

Sometimes you go into a remake skeptically thinking "Why bother?" and exit so pleasantly surprised that you do your best impression of the honey bear, "Oh, bother."
| Original Score: 3/4 | Aug 29, 2020
The script is more Frankenstein's monster than cuddly, and its flaws are the most fascinating parts about it.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Jul 25, 2020
Beautifully shot, the story, however, lacks any remarkable originality. It doesn't offer anything new and quite frankly, we have all seen this before.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Jul 22, 2020
The film is harmless, full of thoughtful questions about what it is to be a grown up, and a bit of fun when all is said and done.

In the right hands, this might have been great.

For the kid in all of us, this nostalgic look good, feel good film reminds the world to slow down and appreciate the little things.
| Original Score: 7/10 | Jan 27, 2020
The acting and voice acting are equally enjoyable. Not only can you believe these characters are who they're telling us they are, but the performances have the ability to convince you you're close or can relate.

Mostly, this film works as ideal family entertainment, a genre that grows rarer and rarer at the Cineplex. It wears its heart on its sleeve and in this cynical world, that's as sweet as honey.

It's to Christopher Robin's credit that instead of sighing at the predictability of such an ending, I just wished it was true that all it took to lift the fog and make the sun shine again was a hug and a few kind words from a sentient plush. It's sweet.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Sep 26, 2019
As a movie, Christopher Robin works pretty decently overall.

As any artist or creator will attest, along with Pooh, it is often the 'unproductive' spaces and 'irrelevant' explorations that lead to the best things.

Hitting all the heartwarming Disney buttons, Christopher Robin rediscovers his inner child, and you may too.
