Cockneys vs zombies. Is a horror / comedy with some action. It's got 3 genre styles into 1 film. It does do a good job for a zombie movie and is entertaining. C'mon! It's a Zombie movie! But, it's got an entertaining, funny plot. When you're laughing you head off watching an old guy on a walker trying to outwalk the slow zombies and the rest of the nursing home come to his rescue, you can at least enjoy the ridiculous of it all.
Comedy about zombies in London's East End. But zombies is a tired concept.
A daft film that's like a comedy version of the Football hooligan films with the Hammers Zombies fighting in the film for good measure. In this the Zombies for some reason have decided they want to finish off what's left of the Cockney's in East London. I don't know who the villains are as the humans are thieves and thugs whose grandfather knew Ronnie and Reggie(Probably). A decent cast of elderly actors who were possibly featuring in their last production.
Not great but good enough for laughs and general entertainment.
I'd recommend this movie for those that like humorous, over-the-top violent zombie movies. Just silly fun- with the added bonus of seeing 78 year old Tom Good from Good Neighbors/The Good Life using a sub-machine gun on zombies.
‘Cockneys vs. Zombies' Lives Up to Its Name
A bit of local fun This Comedy is a fun time
This movie is weird... strange overall. Is it good? It's ok, I guess, but it's really one of those "feel good!" movies mixed with "we're old, but we can still do it!" themes. Is that bad? No, but it is jarring when you see these guys tearing through a zombie horde with nothing but luck and bantering jibes. It makes you think they're going to pick up a divan and throw down the davenports to stop the zombies. It is just not memorable, not particularly exciting or good, and if it was your First zombie movie ever it might be funny, and is sort of funny. Overall it is just ok, not really worth a watch except if your British to the bones, or just genuinely uneducated about zombies and a zombie apocalypse.
Brothers Andy (Harry Treadaway) and Terry (Rasmus Hardiker) decide to rob a bank in order to prevent their grandfather (Alan Ford) from losing his retirement home. A zombie apocalypse breaks out and what happens is a very funny film. Lots of gore but not exactly scary and I expected June Brown as Dot Cotton to appear with an Uzi at some point. Lots of actors you'll recognise from Eastenders and other films and the make up and CGI done well. Features Honor Blackman kicking zombie ass and was Richard Briers last film appearance before he passed away. It's a genuinely funny film where you want the main characters to succeed. Very British humour though so the finer nuances might be missed by non Brits. As an bonus Andy has beautiful eyes and a gorgeous arse and I'm pleased he wasn't nibbled by a zombie. The film finished with Chas and Dave doing a very catchy cockney zombie song as the titles rolled. Fab!
Started off decent. Bad acting, bad plot. It contains one of the worst goofs i've ever seen in a film that is completely unforgivable.
The film certainly has a novelty factor but to be honest, excessive swearing in an attempt to add humour, and the OAP story-line which lets face it, no horror fan gives a monkeys about sums this up to be a pretty more film.
did not expect much from this movie. really surprised it delivered quite well. while some jokes may be cringy it's not entirely bad.
This movie had no right to be as good or as funny as it was, The humour will only be funny to British viewers though, The cast are very likable and are all funny, It's pretty gory in places and it had some fun but silly action scenes, Nothing memorable but if you read the title of the film and still want to watch it then you surely must know what to expect from it.
It self explains what's it all about with its title, but there are funny moments and it's naff but overall good fun!
Probably the funniest zombie comedy next to Zombie Land! There are a few filmmaking mistakes but nothing that takes away from the film. And Michelle Ryan is sooo beautiful!!
