Don't believe the negative reviews!!!!!!!! This movie is a top ten comedy for me not questions. The rapid fire rate of jokes is overwhelming and will take multiple views to catch the subtle and not subtle jokes being thrown at you constantly. Yes the humor is sophmoric and crude and immature and probably insensitive to many folks sense of humor. But for a perpetual middle schooler locked in this adult body, it gets me every time. I can't even give this movie a good enough review. You won't be disappointed if you can get in the right mood and just giggle away.

When it comes to stupid movies that are funny, this is one of my favorites!! If you're a sports guy, you'll get everything that happens. I've seen this movie countless times and I'm still always up to watch it again. I don't care what the ratings say!

Really funny moments but mostly terrible and bad acting

Horrible watch, won't watch again, and do warn against watching. As the best example of signs a movie is bad, I'll mention some of my favorite things: I'm happy to see the beautiful Noureen DeWulf, but still mad she wasn't Jasmine. Stacy Keibler makes a surprise appearance. Melora Hardin look great in this. Wishing Brooke Nevin was Ashley Benson made me think of better movies. Honestly, Frank Caliendo was the funniest part of the movie, just by doing John Madden impersonations. David Koechner and Carl Weathers added nothing to the movie, Shannon Woodward's confused lesbian scene was honestly funnier than the rest of their performances put together. MAYBE if you just LOVE parodies, AND MAYBE if you just love football, then this might be bearable to watch. It just goes too far out of its way to try to make jokes that don't land.

2007: A longtime losing coach gets an opportunity to head a small Texas college football team, later to discover he was set up by a former coaching colleague who cashes the best school in that league. Somehow the coach develops a good team and ultimately faces his colleague in the league championship. Another spoof sports comedy. Most jokes and gags are obvious or weak, other than a couple clever ones (motivational speech through product placement, for one). Lots of movies parodied, including Rocky, Field of Dreams, and Dodgeball. Other spoof sports movie are better than this. This felt uninspired and underwhelming. Stars: David Koechner, Carl Weathers, Melora Hardin, Matthew Lawrence, and Brooke Niven. Many sophomoric cameos.

This movie is funny as hell.. I just make you laugh and fix the mood! It is like funny sketches. If this is not funny, then what about silly SNL. TRUST ME, HILARIOUS

This could be one of the worst movies ever

Hilarious spoof movie.

One of the worst parody flicks ever. A huge lack of laughs as they try way too hard and fall way short with each.

If you liked Dodgeball you'll probably hate this schlock.

It's just funny enough to get through. Barely.

While David Koucher's over the top precence adds up to some admitablt funny moments, this is still only a mediocore spoof of a tired genre.

I'm not sure why people don't get The Comeback. It's so awkward and funny, it's supposed to be like that. I see bad reviews and I truly think people just don't understand the show. I watched all of the 2005 episodes and loved them and now I'm watching the current season and loving it. I'm laughing so hard during every episode. I just don't get why people aren't loving it.

It's not a Seltzer and Friedberg movie, but with its severe lack of humor and over abundance on (now-dated) pop culture gags, it sure as hell feels like one.

Easily one of my favorite spoof films. This movie doesn't take itself seriously and if you don't either you might thoroughly enjoy it. It has hilarious sports cliches, gay and race jokes & sarcasim at its best. I laughed hard at this!

Tom Brady it still terrible

The worst part of this movie isn't the fact that it got made, but that none of the 6 writers and 8 producers that were behind this movie didn't call an audible at any point during its production. I will forevermore use "The Comebacks" as proof that I finish any movie I start.

The spoof genre, which has lacked creativity and humor for some time already, gets spat upon yet again by hacks with no talent. No point, no fun, no originality; just a few cheap bucks for the film makers. It takes more than just referencing some recent movies and giving characters double-meaning names to be satire; to make people laugh. Any clod can pick up a cam-corder, and have some bad-acting buddies in cheap costumes imitate somebody. Since the genre being targeted this time is inspirational sports movies, there are a few lame references thrown out to movies of that type: the jokes are so weak the characters actually have to emphasize the references in various ways, to get you to laugh hysterically. It doesn't work. That's not comedy. However, the same old worn out sophomoric "jokes" ripped off from a middle school washroom (done even more blandly than usual) are all here. If that's not enough, there's a running "gag" of a bus running somebody over. So funny, right? Also, one pathetically poor scene does more product placement than Michael Bay; again with the same unfunny results. A musical bit flops miserably. Pity Carl Weathers, once Apollo Creed in the Rocky series, now stuck with roles in swill like this. Lousy beyond words. Watching a snail run the marathon would be less tedious than watching this film is. Probably a lot funnier, too. 1 Star 9-25-13
