I’m someone who does not deal well with stupidity, which is what this movie displays!! This is supposedly based on a true story, and that’s hard to believe. To think a restaurant mgr, or anyone else involved would believe this…just nope. This was just…nope!!
Do not waste your time with this movie. Extremely repetitive, has two scenes the entire movie 75% of it being in one place, drags on, the ignorance of the characters in this movie is unreal of what was happening to the girl and just in general.
It's one of those movies where you just get super annoyed that everything is going wrong even though the main character is trying to do the right thing.
This film is based on a true story so don't listen to the commenters saying it's too unbelievable or has a weak premise - it actually happened. The movie is certainly infuriating, however - you'll want to throw things at your screen. But for what it is, it's a very well made film with a stark, in-your-face, bare-bones approach and it is totally compelling from beginning to end. My wife and I were riveted
Ridiculous premise. This movie requires you to not only suspend disbelief, but also that you drive it to a vacant lot and leave it for dead. That this "Manager" would just blindly follow instructions to this degree from a voice on a phone... Ridiculous.
This film is not believable. I turned it off after ten minutes. Nobody could be as naïve as the restaurant workers who are willing to do anything this mysterious voice on the phone says. Why didn’t the manager insist that the “cop” give her his badge number and come down in person with the accuser and a search warrant. Yeah, the manager wants to cooperate, but if she isn’t stupid she will also fear a lawsuit by the worker whose rights are being trampled. When you choose an odd premise for a movie, you have to be sure it is still believable. Sidney Lumet chose some odd premises—and entire film inside a jury room; a alcoholic woman who wakes up in a strange house with a guy she doesn’t know next to her who has a knife sticking out of his chest. But Lumet's movies are always believable from the first frame to the last. This director needs to watch some Sidney Lumet films to learn how to properly do the “odd premise” thing. David R.
The only reason I gave this as much as 1.5 is that the acting, especially the fast food manager's was very good. But the premise is ridiculous. It's so obvious within a couple of minutes of the "police officer's" call, that it's a total prank. I got through about 40 minutes and that was all I could take. Pass.
90 minutes of disturbing, intensely frustrating psychological horror. Sensitive direction, great acting, and probably the most suspenseful slow burner film I’ve ever seen.
Two words: hang up..
OK SO THIS WAS CRAZY 🤪 CYCLELON THREE LOPES ROLLERCOASTER!! HOW MANY DUMB IDIOTS CAN ALL WORK AT ONE PLACE! THIS IS TRUE STORY!! OMG. IT KEEPS YOUR ATTENTION FOR IT TO TAKE PLACE ONE ROOM. WITH A PSYCHO ON THE PHONE. WHO ARE THESE NO BRAIN EMPTY HEADS PEOPLE. IT WAS JUST, MY GOD. NO NO. WHEN WILL THESE SWAMP BRAINS CONFIRM WITH THE POLICE. DUMB MANAGER, LEFT HER HUSBAND WITH NAKED WOMAN... JESUS
Ridiculous. I tried and failed to get past this ever even remotely happening, anywhere on the planet. But what I really couldn't get past was if that were me I'd quit in the first 4 minutes of questioning
One of the worst movies ive ever seen. Maybe the movie just try to show what happen in the real life but for me its unthinkable this happen. Just people that i dont know why couldnt think or simply use their brain to figure out from the very beginning that everything was illegal and incorrect on the procedure “the police” asked for, proceed with doing it by phone and just dont corroborate the information by calling 911 and reporting the situation and do it with real police officers presents in a police station. For me its unthinkable this things can happen this way, people just have to think a little just a little to know that a situation is not normal.!
Highly disturbing, highly irritating, pornographic bull of a movie. Makes you think that the director of the movie is insane. Sure it's a psychological thriller but there needs to be more of a explicit warning. It was too much.
It's pretty cringe-worthy watching how foolish people can be and how cruel they can be to another human being. But as a move, there was no suspense, no surprise, just a long, drawn out repetition of events leading to the inevitable conclusion.
The most stupid movie ever, cant believe people can be that stupid to fall for this. 🤦🏽♂️ officer who? Just total bs
It’s hard to believe that this story is based on reality. A man calls a fast food restaurant after apparently having surveyed the joint, and tells the manager that he is the police and asks the manager to strip search a very attractive young female employee because a customer had accused her of theft. The police cannot come right away because supposedly they are searching the employee’s house for drugs. Then, the person on the phone asks a man to guard the naked woman who is covered just by an apron! Nobody apparently has noticed that in the airport male TSA agents never search women! The movie is well paced and photographed but I kept thinking that it is some type of stupid allegory imagined by the screenwriter. Before the end credits we are told that there have been 70 similar incidents in 30 states! Apparently you can call many Americans, tell them you are officer Daniels and have them remove the clothes from some woman who works in the establishment. No wonder then, that fraudsters call people and ask them to move hundreds of thousands of dollars to supposedly safe FBI accounts.
The story was so freaking mind blowing that make you'll ask yourself what I just watched.
Well acted and expertly paced. Modern horror classic made all the more unnerving by the fact that the events depicted have occured multiple times in real life.
It was jaw dropping but slow. Cast didn’t do that well.
Smut disguised as a high brow movie.
