Constantine Reviews
It's quite an interesting concept on adapting the concepts of infernos, purgatories, and paradises. Quite the entertainer if you ask me.
While it may be a bit over the top on the religious mumbo jumbo, it still is a good movie. One of Keanu Reeves's better films.
Time is finally proving this to be the classic it is. It is - always has been- a great flick.
For a R rated fantasy/horror film, Constantine doesn't exactly bring home the horror, but Keanu Reeves manages to create a dark, entertaining vibe.
So good on many levels. Can't wait for Constantine 2!!
Some people crap all over this film but it's one of my guilty pleasure action films, it's a fun time.
About as good a the last John Wick. But whereas that one is dragging along a tired movie idea into the rings of hell, this one is freshly on its way there. So visually rewarding you won't hate it.
Loved it. No wonder Keanu Reeves loves this character so much, and also would not mind a sequel, as I would as well. Great cinematography, cast is top notch, characters well placed throughout. Enough to keep you glued to it, intriguing and adventurous. I like the light and dark focus shifting. Brilliant in my books
Świetny film wiadomo inny niż w komiksy ale były to inne czasy ale mimo tego film podobał mi się bardzo
This deserved a sequel
Back in 2005, before Google was everywhere and the ubiquitous media telling you what to watch (or what not to), I went and actually enjoyed this movie, so much so that I bought the DVD, or would catch it whenever it's on 온라인카지노추천. It was brilliant not only through an aesthetic lens and the cinematography, but also the screenplay, acting, and pacing. To top it all, connecting all these to Judeo Christian history and values is not an easy feat. Constantine is a very unique piece of film to watch. Would be nice to see a sequel, and if there is going to be, hopefully it would live up to this one.
People have to be crazy not to give this movie 5 stars. The plot and characters were amazing and it has excellent replay value.
Utterly absorbing. Despite telling a story that's insane, suspension of disbelief comes easily, in part through the efforts of a stellar cast, making this AAA escapism, and eventually you'll find yourself watching it again, and again. It's that good.
Movie touches on a lot of topics that most Christians don't really hold. Humans entering and then exiting hell. Humans outsmarting Satan. The idea that committing suicide automatically sends you to hell is also not widely held amongst Christians. Many Christians do sometimes say this as a deterrent to suicide, but I think most priests and pastors would argue that the only unforgiveable sin is not accepting Jesus Christ as your savior prior to your death, or blaspheming the holy spirit your entire life. A film like this really needs to be careful not to add more inaccuracies to an already dogmatic belief system, otherwise it just makes immersion that much harder. Even though I myself am an atheist, I do enjoy divine movies to stick to actual teachings and commonly held sentiments by most theologians, rather than mainstream misconceptions held by believers less rehearsed in theology. That being said, the movie had great visuals and depictions and was fun to watch for those reasons. What could have made this movie better are some plot adjustments. I think constantine battling against lower level demons who violated God's rules would have been better than constantine himself violating rules, as it's less deviation for a demon to do it than a human. A human conflict with Satan just deviates from the theology too much, as he's supposed to be the ultimate enemy that only God can vanquish. Having a human have any upper hand on him undermines both God and Satan, and thus all of Christianity. I'd even argue humans shouldn't go up against higher level demons like Beelzebub either to maintain the awe of divinity.
Ok movie played fine
Personally, I LOVE this movie, although it can be a bit confusing for those who haven't seen or read anything to do with Constantine, which is why I recommend either reading the comics or watching the "Constantine Series" before watching this. Just to get some footing and understanding.
It's not as good as I remember. So much of it is so silly and even a bit boring. But as a kid or teenager, I guess a horror fantasy noir setting such as this was pretty impressive. Nonetheless, the visual and sound effects with the crazy drip of the cast make it really enjoyable. The world-building doesn't exactly make sense because they just put us in the middle and thought that would help it. If the sequel is really coming, I hope there are enough retcons for it all to make more sense.
Cool and dark and kinky--A fun experience as far as I'm concerned !
Constantine in my opinion is not a bad movie, the visual effects are the highlight of the movie, with great actors in the cast although I think Reeves could have done a little more, sometimes the script lost me a little. Anyway, it's not bad.
