Crush Reviews
I LOVED this movie. It's fun and tender at the same time. I wish movies like this existed waaaaay back in time. Classical high school romance, but make it lesbian. Diversity is great and this movie knows how to beautifully capture that. Definetly a recommendation for everyone.
I wish a movie like this existed when I was in high school.
This movie is simple and cute, and it's so refreshing to see a simple, cute lesbian story. I loved the humor in this movie and I especially loved the tension chemistry between the lead characters. Overall a great watch, and a definite rewatch when I need something soft, funny, and comforting.
Light and positive teen romcom.
My all time favorite rom-com, combines a lovely coming of ages story with queer and poc representation. One of the best queer rom-coms out there, and defies tropes by not including a coming out story line. Lovely movie full of queer joy
Bit cringe but quite endearing
A charming love story, even though the writing and delivery can come off as awkward from time to time. Auli'i Cravalho is a stand-out in this for me personally.
"Crush" features one major twist that sets it apart from other high school romance movies. I feel like outside of that, the movie doesn't do that much that is particularly inventive for the genre. I feel like featuring a gay main character is progressive and something unique, but I feel like this film is completely overshadowed by something like "Love, Simon" from a few years ago that to me featured a much more engaging story. Still, this movie has some good laughs and enough charm to make it worth a one-time watch. The movie didn't have too many surprises when it came to the story but it might just be because there are so many of these movies that it became a bit predictable. Overall, it is a movie that features some nice representation which is great but is just okay from an entertainment standpoint.
It's cute and nice movie, i love it
This movie is amazing, everything I needed when I was a 16. I probably gonna watch it over and over again
The best Hulu Original film? Possibly. Rowan and Auli'i are delightful. All I would have done differently is ramp up the silliness a bit. It was a bit weird having Riley from Girl Meets World swear but what can you do.
I didn't have much expectations for this movie so I think the movie turns out pretty good. It is sweet and cute but also cliché and predictable. I like the fact that the movie discuss the complexity of having a twin. It is rarely discussed.
I didn't know how badly I needed to see a movie like this! Seeing high schoolers, and even elementary school/middle school kids having healthy crushes on each other made me so emotional! While I loved this movie for the way it made me feel as a queer person who didn't get to have these experiences, it also is just a funny and amazing movie! A true high school movie classic in my book!
this movie is sweet and funny, you don't have the tragedy or the tears like it's common for the lgbt movies, you just have two girls falling in love, people having crushes, finding out who they are and what they're meant to be, friendships, and all the stuff that happen to a teenager. amazing lgbt representation and a lovely storyline
