its a funny movie, funny to watch but in a bad way. the acting is really bad, the songs are alright. most of the acting is just too funny not to laugh at (again, in a bad way) im not sure if this is a satire but i pray that it is. iggy pop is in it though so for that it gets 2 stars.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é ruim, o elenco é fraco, o filme tentou trazer musical com um clima dos anos 50, praticamente ou igual ao grease de 1978, mas cry- baby falha muito e tem as músicas muito fracas, e por isso, eu não recomendo esse filme.

Though Cry-Baby may not be all too good of a film at the end of the day, it hard to deny that I really enjoyed this film. The wonderful musical numbers and often hilarious satire from Waters left me entertained and full of joy throughout this watch.

A lot of singing in a movie that’s not to be taken seriously. A sort of a parody of musicals from the 50s, it has a few entertaining scenes but it overall falls flat.

My favorite movie for many years but the drinking of the tears will always make me gag.

When I was growing up, my older sister had the Cry-Baby poster on her wall. She'd never seen the movie, she just had a crush on Johnny Depp. Now that I've watched it, I must say that the poster is the only good thing about this movie. It's awful. Since John Waters was the director, I expected some camp, but I had to rough it through the entire runtime. The plot is pointless, the acting is horribly hammy, the music is forgettable, and the humor is bizarre & unfunny. I feel embarrassed for everyone in this movie. Cry-Baby has the look of a fun 50s parody, but it feels amateurish and oddly grotesque.

I love this over the top comedy.

It's like Footloose and the Outsiders had a kid. It's got the man Johnny D though so it's a bangin movie.

I was disappointed. John Waters was always so edgy but this was so bland. A bit of the music was ok but mostly I was bored throughout.

A twisted vision of a 50s teenage love story as only John Waters could make. Also, the movie that saved Johnny Depp from being just another teen heartthrob.

Chaotic and uncomfortably packed with caricatures of what could otherwise have been fun characterisations.

I can't I'm good conscience rate this super low because technically it wasn't the worst movie I've watched. But I can say I don't ever want to watch it again. It DISGUSTS me and literally I can't watch it without gagging. Usually I love weird movies but I don't know it was just so disturbing :-|

I am not sure I could identify the target audience of this movie, but it definitely wasn't me. However, I must admit that the sheer oddness of everything made for an entertaining viewing.

That movie was the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. Would recommend if you want to laugh and die from cringe.

Wonderful kitsch movie! Nothing offensive just pure fun and a great look at the young Johnny Depp who excels in the lead role. Uses every trope of the 1950s with attention to detail and the absurdity to great effect all the while making fun of itself. It is a great well caste roster of actors who play their roles to perfection. View this film with a sense of humour and you will be wonderfully entertained. A clever film that was very much under estimated on release so wonderful to see it take on cult film status.
