Non male, peccato che sia un po' noioso, ma ribadisco, niente male

Not a huge fan of lots of Eastwood's work, but this one I enjoyed. His character is well-played & believeable, despite his advancing age.

It's ok at best, but slow and hollow.

"Cry Macho" is a story about Mike, played by Eastwood, who goes down to Mexico to pick up his boss's son. The script had been bouncing around Hollywood since the 80's and finally got released 40 years later. And yes, stories like this are at risk of feeling derivative of older material...and this is the case for this film. What helps this stand out from other movies of this kind are: 1. The little touches of quality that Eastwood adds through his directing. And 2. The truly strange choices that the film takes. Starting with the good Eastwood touches. All the characters are memorable despite how little screen time they may receive. The border patrol members get a scene to flesh them out. Two random police officers get a scene. The mother of the kid only has two scenes, but she still makes an impact. There are several scenes that don't necessarily move the story forward, but they do help the audience get to know the characters. Now the weird choices the story makes. Why does the movie spend so much screen time on 3 hippies and a border guard if they don't ever impact the story again? Why are the villains so hilariously easy to dispatch? I mean at one part the main villain is taken out by an angry chicken. The main kid speaks in a heavy accent, as if he is struggling to speak English. This creates a barrier in the child's acting. This makes it harder for the audience to connect with the character. 30% of the dialogue has to be repeated, first in Spanish, then translated to Mike in English. This unnecessarily slows down the story while adding nothing to it. And finally, the ending, which I won't spoil here, involves a completely random detour and ends in an awkward spot emotionally.

It’s frustrating coming from two GREAT movies and then get this thing full of stereotypical things about Mexico. And why went to Mexico City and portraying that way. But the most sad is watch Mr. Eastwood form a serious age trying to dance when he has trouble to walk, this shouldn’t be his last movie, The Mule was great for the last one, that should it be his retirement.

This movie has some heart, good scenery , music, and there's something magnetic about Clint Eastwood even at 90. But the movie is pretty slow, and pretty hard to believe, Clint is shown breaking in horses and punches a thug at one point, but he's clearly a frail old man! He also picks up Spanish in a couple of weeks... Tbh I am surprised I made it to the end. Not terrible, but if Clint acts again it ought to be a story that makes sense for a very very elderly person. Meh movie, and wouldn't have watched it but for the FOMO of it leaving Netflix

The ghoul from Fallout and a kid who can't act. The best performance was by the cock. It was funny how bad it was. Child friendly as there is zero tension and nothing happens.

This movie is definitely a movie. First of all the story is sweet, but a good story isn’t enough to make up for extremely unenthusiastic acting. As much as I hate to say it, Clint is too old to be acting. I love seeing Clint Eastwood on my tv, and the fact that he has been in the film realm longer than most people live is astounding. He just felt real wooden and lacked the bravado and expertise he normally has. I cannot put the whole blame on Clint because everyone else felt just as bored (seeing a play at your local high school has more enthusiasm). Plus I feel he could have made the same movie on a Made for 온라인카지노추천 budget. I’m gonna stop hating on the film though, because it truly wasn’t that bad. Actually I think this a good film for kids, because it doesn’t have much swearing if any I recall and it’s a good story. Lackluster ending though. 2.5/5 stars.

Not Eastwood's best, by far, and quite predictable, but still a nice watch.

As much as I admire Mr Eastwood this one is just that 1 film too many, it's quite sobering to see him at this time in his life and how physically fragile he appears. The film itself is nonsense, a 90 year old gets sent to fetch a teenage boy from mexico? A 40 something Mexican diva wants sex with Clint? It's cringe. Mr Eastwood please stop, you are and will be remembered as a great...dont sully your reputation on this garbage.

The title had me worried - what was it going to be about? I loved the film. Very Clint Eastwood. He doesn’t let anything stand in his way, as an actor, director or character.

Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be a single thread holding water in this meant to be heart-warming story. The awkward evilness of boys’s mother, her comically inept croonies, the rotten-not-so-rotten boy, Mike’s big late love story, boy’s father who can’t make a complete sentence or complete sense. Mr Eastwood is the love of my life, yet this is just dramatically bad.

I watched this on dvd. Considering how old Clint was when he did this, it's incredibly good. If I could perform half as well as Clint when I'm 91, I'd be extremely happy. That said, the film is much slower paced than usual, and is more of a road trip story than a western. I don't think Clint even carrys a gun in this role, which says everything. It's quite a good story for what it is, but it's no where near as good as Clint's earlier work. Sadly, I think that's just a fact of getting old.

First of all let me say I love Clint Eastwood. A legend of the movie business and Unforgiven is my all time favourite film. However, this film is literally begging him to retire. From the opening scene he is doddery and shakey with stilted dialogue and it actually affects the movies pacing. His co-stars are also disappointingly wooden with his former boss trotting his lines out as though simply reciting an auto-cue. I tried to stick with it, I really did but we reached the point where he turns to someone in the movie, I dont even recall who which tells you all you need to know, and says, 'When did you give up!' It was so painfully cheese, without being endearingly cheese, that I literally looked the at the wife (who had already checked out) and said, 'Ok...we're done.' You are a legend Clint. It's time to enjoy that and stop!

Slow moving drama Teaching the young generation about respect

The classic Eastwood touch is applied to a touching tale of redemption with a sense of divine grace. Too much profanity, though.

Showing off Clint Eastwood's sentimental side, Cry Macho can't get the best of either half of its titular dichotomy, largely unconvincing character-wise.

Sep 23, 2023

Good golly, this movie sounds like they made up the script as they went along. Really boring and unbelievable. Time for Clint to retire.

Sep 22, 2023

The rough and tumble Clint Eastwood has now made a hallmark worthy movie. A genuine snoozer. The acting is a negative 10 while the 90 something Clint looks like he belongs in 24 hour memory care section of assisted living. On the very thin up side, some of the music and cinematography is quite good. Sorry Clint, you should have retired after Grand Torino.

Well God bless him. Clint gave it his last shot to be the macho, brawling, bronc busting, sexy hero. Problem is at 93 and barely able to walk, it was painful to watch. Acting in this movie wasn't as much "bad" as just unbelievable. Sorry. I love Clint but this was a whipping.
