Dances With Wolves Reviews
One of the best movies of all time. I was 7 when this came out, I remember watching it with my father. I just watched it now at age 41 all these years later. A true masterpiece. I cried at the end. A beautiful film that stirs the soul. Many would say one of the best films of all time. A work of art.
It is a very well made and beautifully shot film and a good performance from Costner.
When I first saw DwW, I wasn't particularly impressed. It was another Hollywood dressing down of America. And while it isn't subtle or anything like that, it does provide a counterpoint to the 50s Western. The movie is a slow burn, taking it's time to get to know its key characters. Some of it is ham-handed, and the ending felt a little wandering and drawn out, but there is some really good story and cinematography along the way.
One of the greatest movies of all time. Beautifully written, perfectly casted, great storytelling and an amazing mix of drama, romance and action. So much to love about this movie. It is absolutely flawless. 30 years on and it's still and amazing watch.
An important epic that every American should see. Costner's best. One of my favorite movies of all time.
A sweeping epic for the ages.
Gorgeous! The Scenes, cinematography, and framing of this Film were pretty to watch. There were moments of an old-timey western that made me feel this movie was made earlier than the 90's I felt that the story was interesting and made you think about what a lot of the issues that came up during that time were and how things were glossed over simply for survival. The plot seemed fast, but really, it was a gorgeous film that kept me entertained, with moments of humor and moments of contemplation—I enjoyed the movie.
Dances with Wolves is one of the greatest movies ever filmed! It's completely satisfying throughout and really elicits your emotions without toying with them. I don't know anybody who's seen it that didn't enjoy it thoroughly. It's one of the greatest Academy Award-winning Best Pictures ever. I actually do question their choices sometimes. But this one takes the cake. Kevin Costner really shows his skill with the project. I've never been a fan of his and I consider him overrated and I've never understood his popularity in any way. But it's like he was born to play this part and direct this movie because he's totally likeable and appealing in this one role of his career. Mary McDonald is perfectly cast and the Indian actors couldn't have been any better. It is a period piece and has stood the test of time and always will because of its themes,it's beautiful cinematography, the flawless performances and the wonderful universal storytelling.
Appalling drivel. A man wandering about with a gun overlooking a hill and poncing about with Indians for three hours. Kevin Costner is the Happy Shopper Harrison Ford, without the charisma of the Star Wars actor. Why he thought he should direct a film is beyond me. Maybe, just maybe, if they edited out two hours it might become palatable.
An absolute masterpiece… this is a tale about being friends with everyone, compassion, understanding others, and more valuable advice. This movie takes you on a grand sweeping journey through the american frontier thst makes you want to get on a plane to Oklahoma. the characters are compelling and the writing is great. this movie is truly beautiful and deserved its best picture award.
I remember being young kid and hearing so many references from adults and other films who reference this movie. I never saw the whole film until a few years back and I really enjoyed this film from beginning to end. It showcases so much of the chaos that ensued during and post Civil War. Not only war but also the dangers and risk taken on by those who dare to take on the great western plains of America. The scenic camera shots and cinematography is done so well that it really is one of those movies that should be on everyones must watch. I have always enjoy Kevin Costner's work from DWW to Field of Dreams to Hatfields and McCoys 온라인카지노추천 Series. The length of the film is the only thing that may drive some nuts especially if you like to get up at least every hour like most people but it does draw you in to where it goes by pretty quick. Two socks...got to love him
used to hate this movie, but now i love it and i think it's absolute must see to see on the big screen in a cinema. I love the cinematography and i love the script by micheal blake. Kevin costner's character is a kind and gentle soldier. Dance with wolves is an soaring and stirring epic that just needs to unfold as you watch it.q
This is one of Costner’s best films, and intentional or not, the inspiration for Avatar. Same movie and story but with big, blue people.
Kevin Costner's western epic is worthy of all the critical and commercial success it received, and most of all, the highest honor any motion picture could ever earn, the Academy Award for Best Picture. Yet, for its beautiful cinematography, mesmerizing score, and commendable performances, the film is tediously drawn out. While Dances With Wolves is an impressive revelation of American History, it doesn't offer enough to justify being that long.
A beautiful love story.
With Dances with Wolves, Kevin Costner has delivered one of the best films I have ever seen. The portrait of the noble Indians is truly accomplished. Extended Version is a must seen.
Excellent movie. Everything about it is excellent. Stunning cinematography, gorgeous soundtrack and superb acting. One of my all-time favorite movies.
I wish they went a little more method. Kevin Costner and Mary McDonnell hair and make up look almost too good. You can almost see the hairspray holding their hair in place and perfect faces in that time period looks ridiculous and it is almost all I can see.
