Darby and the Dead Reviews
For a ghost established that it cannot see her reflection in mirrors, for sure you can see her shadow in the sand or ground.
This is literally the perfect coming of age movie! I wish I had watched it sooner.
This is really intriguing, thumbs up to the actors
Despite an good cast, likeable main character and an interesting premise this doesn't elevate above other teen comedies to make it a disappointment
Riele Dawns gives a charismatic lead and her friend gives the necessary energy. Mostly fun with some bite, though it's end is rather corny.
'Darby and the Dead' is a mostly fun teen comedy that embraces its quirky and whimsical sides to winning effect.
Very clichê and boring ....the plot was nice but the execution is lacking.
SPOILERS*** Darby is the subject of bullying, and the death of her bully only amplifies the mistreatment as the ghost has figured out how to use her energy to physically mistreat Darby. Darby has very little self respect as she continuously gives in to her bully, even praising her after the bully forces Darby into embarrassing herself in front of everyone at a party. There's no redemptive trope for Capri, the bully, who just moves into the afterlife. And the character's dead mother has been around the entire time, hidden, and claims she couldn't move on until she knew her daughter was okay. Then where the heck were you when she was being bullied the entire movie?!?!?! This movie had promise but is clearly unable to keep one.
Such a cute and funny movie! A modern day mean girls meets the sixth sense
I watched this so you don't have to. Save yourself an hour and a half.
This film may not have an amazing script, but it does have a great editor. To Kate Hicky. The great cuts and spins are great! The film keeps me very interested to see what happens next. I loved it.
It's watchable but the plot isn't really something new - unpopular girl becomes popular and then realizes that popularity isn't everything.
