Cute concept. Cheap costumes, baaaad acting and songs. With just how cringy this film was, I'm surprised it got the critical acclaim that it did, but perhaps Disney Channel original movies are held to a different bar? For the kiddos who love Disney lore, this one will definitely entertain, but boy was this cringy.

Descendants CHANGED my childhood! I used to want everything stores would offer that were Descendants. If you want to see it, watch Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, 101 Dalmatians, Snow White and Beauty and the Beast first. Basically, Beast was elected to the United States of Auradon. It's an interesting twist on the stories.

Descendants was my childhood movie, it has and always will be my everything. The characters are fun, costume designs are flattering for each characters personality, and the songs are absolutely the ones that will get stuck in your head after watching. If you're not one to like the style of Disney Channel movies, this is one you'll want to skip; but if that's your kind of movie and you want to see the teenage children of classic Disney characters interact i cannot recommend Descendants enough.

Finally got around to watching *Descendants*! As a Disney fan and a sucker for musicals, I’ve always been curious about this one. Gotta say, the plot is such a fun idea—seeing the kids of Disney villains and heroes in one universe is genius. Kristin Chenoweth as Maleficent? Perfect casting. The character designs were on point too! But... it’s not without flaws. Dove Cameron tends to overact, which can get a bit annoying, and the production feels *so* cheap. If Disney had treated this like one of their big-budget films with A-list actors, it could’ve been an instant blockbuster. The songs are good and well-performed, but none of them really stick with you. Still, I had a good time! Loved catching all the Disney easter eggs and references. It’s exactly what I expected—flawed but enjoyable. On to the sequel—I’m excited to explore more of this universe!

This movie was quite a blast

I actually love the concept but this is 100% the worst movie I have ever watched. I had to turn it of after 10 minutes it was so bad. The villains just became stupid and obsessed with being mean. The protagonists were horrible and self centred. The acting was so bad. It was so bad. I hate the opening song. I want to vomit. They had to put an ipad instead of a book because they thought it would impress kids (it didnt impress me). And were did all the people on the villains islands come from. Where are the rest of the villains. Wasted potential. Waaaaaaasted.

Loved the music and the back and forth. They did a great job on this.

One of my favs as a kid!! Know all the songs!!! Great catchy songs, good acting, feel good family movie and a Disney channel classic!

Após o casamento da Bela com a Fera, todos os reinos mágicos foram reunidos no reino de Auradon, Ao mesmo tempo, todos os vilões foram enviados para uma ilha chamada Ilha dos Perdidos e é isolada do continente por uma barreira mágica criada pela Fada Madrinha. No aniversário de 16 anos, o filho de Bela e Fera, o príncipe Ben irá ser coroado e ele decide convidar quatro filhos adolescentes dos vilões para virem estudar em Auradon. Os escolhidos são Mal, a filha da Maléfica, Evie, a filha da Rainha Má da Branca de Neve, Carlos, o filho da Cruella de Vil, e Jay, o filho do Jafar. Os jovens recebem a missão de roubar a varinha mágica da Fada Madrinha, para que a barreira mágica seja rompida e os vilões possam atacar Auradon. Porém, a convivência no colégio acaba levando-os a repensarem sobre sua vida e missão, mesmo que sofram preconceito de alguns moradores do reino mágico. É uma sacada bem interessante de criar os filhos adolescentes dos maiores vilões Disney. Você percebe que eles não pessoas más, pois logo vão abandonando os pensamentos mesquinhos e egoístas. O elenco jovem reunido é talentoso, principalmente nas várias sequências musicais do filme, como toda produção Disney jovem. Porém, percebe-se que ao escalar Kristin Chenoweth, como Maléfica, e Kathy Najimy, como a Rainha Má, havia algum receio deles não darem conta do projeto. É claro que o roteiro é bobinho, com pretensões de passar moral, tanto para um lado quanto para o outro. Tenta fazer comédia e ter boas sacadas, mas muitas vezes soa bobo e infantil. A direção se sai melhor mesmo nos números musicais, com várias câmeras pegando vários ângulos, em coreografias bem interessantes. Descendentes é uma boa ideia que pode ser que não tenha resultado em um grande filme, mas diverte.

Typical Disney stuff, it can get corny sometimes and this is one of them. Having the setting in a modern day makes it even worse, musical numbers are too modern.

Great singing. I love the character development. The acting is great and it feels like a Disney Classic. Camera work was done well.

Normalita película, una cinta típica de Disney que ves para pasar el rato. Esta es una cinta con una historia que en mi opinión tenia algo de potencial si la desarrollaban bien. Me parece que los personajes no fueron bien trabajados, y hablo en general, ya sea de los protagonistas, los villanos y los demás personajes de Disney. La película me parece entretenida en todo momento, su historia no es la gran cosa, es bastante simple, pero no se puede negar que entretiene. No me gustan los villanos de esta cinta, creo que no son comparables a las versiones originales de ellos y no te crees que son los mismos. Los protagonistas caen bien en su mayoría pero las actuaciones no acompañan, y no es culpa de los actores creo que ya es un tema de direccion. Los temas musicales me parece que están bien distribuidos y se pueden destacar algunas piezas muy icónicas y pegadizas, junto a un buen desempeño en las coreografías. Otra cosa que no me gusta para nada son los efectos especiales, realmente son muy malos y para que se terminen viendo algunas cosas así ni las hubieran hecho, porque hay cosas que se ven muy mal y se nota el poco presupuesto; y a esto se le suma que ni siquiera usaron los suficientes extras en una escena en particular, ya que los agregaron por CGI. En conclusión, me parece una película normalita que sirve para ver en familia o para pasar el rato, pero que deja mucho que desear en cuanto a su historia y a su producción. La recomiendo.

I liked the concept of the villains having children. As a Disney fan, nothing better than characters from different movies hanging out together. Every fans' imagination coming to life.
