Die Another Day Reviews
The over-reliance on epic CGI effects results in a few chinks in the spectacle (the tidal wave looks like a video game effect), but the thrill-topping succession of death-defying disasters and unbelievable battles... just don’t stop coming.

Producing this milestone film is an unenviable task of immense responsibility. Unfortunately, the result is a clumsy homage –an attempt to concoct a grand confection with ingredients of varied quality and a baker that wasn’t up to the task.

It really doesn't matter how Lee Tamahori directed the film or what Neal Purvis and Robert Wade did with their script because Die Another Day was screwed from the moment that The Bourne Identity opened in theaters.
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Dec 19, 2022
Despite the invisible car, the atrocious theme song, the bewildering Madonna cameo and Toby Stephens’ dreadfully dull villain, there is one thing about Die Another Day that proves to be an inarguable success: Halle Berry.
| Original Score: 4/10 | Nov 23, 2022
The plot and tone are a complete mismatch and there is no single element that stands out enough to be memorable,
| Original Score: D | Aug 28, 2022
Not as bad as its reputation, with Brosnan finally appearing completely at ease in the part.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Sep 25, 2021
Die Another Day is largely overblown with no real sense of closure, and the series needed to undergo some massive DNA replacement therapy before it was fit for duty once again.
| Sep 25, 2021
It is simply so outlandish and unbelievable that it becomes difficult to care about the story.
| Original Score: 2/10 | Apr 4, 2021
Sadly, the introductory scene is far better than anything else in the picture; it desperately deserves a grander movie to herald.
| Original Score: 1/10 | Sep 29, 2020
This film is bad - seriously and shockingly bad.
| Original Score: 1.5/5 | Jul 16, 2020
It's definitely [Pierce] Brosnan's worst Bond film.
| Original Score: D+ | Apr 3, 2020
Die Another Day is a tale of two halves, the first half is mostly good, the second is nearly always awful. This is how Pierce Brosnan's Bond goes out, which is a damn shame.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Feb 21, 2020
With work like this, I'm sure #21 can't be too far behind. Thank goodness Brosnan isn't ready to throw in the towel yet. Better keep those martinis comin' folks. And make that shaken, not stirred.

The film is a frantic roller-coaster ride from which you emerge exhausted, with a massive blur in the head.
| Original Score: 2/4 | Jan 3, 2019
this incarnation of Bond is just plain fun
| Original Score: 4/5 | Jan 10, 2016
Plenty entertaining, but consistent with most of Brosnan's Bonds, a few misguided decisions keep it from being a classic.
| Original Score: 7/10 | Nov 7, 2015
By honoring the Bond iconography of girls, guns and cars, Tamahori and the screenwriters are able to do something new with Bond: They dare to suggest that Bond is not only human, but also fallible.

It's the same old Bond.
| Nov 2, 2015
Die Another Day faithfully hews to the James Bond formula, giving us all the elements and allowing the '60s formula to not only live, but prosper, into the the new millennium.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Nov 2, 2015
Tamahori senses what Bond fans have been missing. He and Brosnan deliver it with style, both deserving to try another day.
