Disney's Snow White Reviews
Rachel Zegler's voice is one of the best of any artist right now and her portrayal as Snow White is captivating, and as much as Gal Gadot physically looked the part of the Evil Queen, her performance was too messy and took me out of the film.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Apr 21, 2025
Snow White has a few nice touches, but the film feels misguided, miscalibrated, and obviously reworked in post. Torn between staying faithful to the original or reimagining it, it leaves us with the worst of both worlds.

This is a movie about virtue and any fun is incidental.

Rachel Zegler is the best part of the live-action remake. Gal Gadot is a bit stiff, and the songs are hit-and-miss. The movie looks spectacular and is best suited for families with young kids.

The new songs are unmemorable and one of them is outright awful (Princess Problems).

Somewhere between the animated version and the true life version the Disney magic was lost.
| Original Score: 5/10 | Apr 5, 2025
This remake, which admittedly has its own problems, improves on some of the issues in the original, mostly by making its main characters actual characters with depth and emotion and all the things that make them engaging and interesting.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Apr 5, 2025
It does the exactly what we want these remakes to do in expanding on its predecessor...there are some things to like, it just doesn't get there in execution.

Disney is having an identity crisis that has trickled down to its ability to update its best-loved fairy tales into modern remakes.
| Original Score: 4/10 | Apr 4, 2025
For this reviewer, who once dreamed of being a princess like Snow White, I'll forgo a true Brothers Grimm retelling if it means the right audience can get butts in theaters for this thoughtful and no less magical bite off the poisoned apple.
| Apr 4, 2025
The feature is still a wholly and predictably unnecessary one, transforming an animated classic into an overlong adventure, increasing the quotient of musical numbers, shellacking the proceedings with a healthy coating of digital gloss.

Disney has lost sight of why they started doing animation in the first place: because there's just some things you shouldn't do in live action.
| Original Score: D | Apr 3, 2025
Zegler is the only thing keeping Snow White from becoming the on-screen debacle that it already is off-screen. A colossal screw up at virtually every level.
| Original Score: C- | Apr 2, 2025
...it is Zegler's dazzling, heartfelt performance and stunning vocals that give this adaptation a much-needed dose of magic.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 2, 2025
Thankfully they can't go back much further (or much lower) than this, that's the good news, I suppose?
| Original Score: 1.5/5 | Apr 2, 2025
The charm and magic that oozed from the lovely tunes like “Whistle While You Work” don’t blend well with the new elements brought to the table.
| Original Score: D | Apr 1, 2025
Above all else, it’s a charming fairy tale showcasing – and carefully updating – the original Disney princess.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 1, 2025
Despite all the fine tuning and intentions, the new Disney's Snow White directed by Marc Webb, ends up confusing and disappointing, more than anything else. [Full Review in Spanish]

Snow White is a perfectly mediocre time at the theaters for families and also another feather in the cap for Disney when it comes to lifeless remakes of their beloved classics. I hate these cash-grabs but this is far from the worst.

While I never expected a masterpiece, I’m still a little stunned by the sheer awfulness of this remake.
