Don't Breathe Reviews
This movie was soo good, I didn't even know about it until my sister told me and we watched it together. The fact that a blind man was able to deduce their locations throughout the whole movie and not make it cliché but rather making it a unique experience for the viewers, which drew me in. Definitely a MUST WATCH movie.😫😫😫😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pretty simple and very predictable but a good horror film where it’s hard to have sympathy for any of the characters. Watched on Netflix.
This stretches credulity a little too far. It does turn very nasty about three quarters of the way in; before then it's been marking time.
Totally absurd and unbelievable in so many ways I can't count, and yet somehow the good acting and competent direction manage to pull it off.
Nobody deserved to live in this movie. Some people pity the woman who killed the old man's daughter, but she honestly deserves to die too, idc what she went through. Trying to pay your way out of murdering someone 100% warrants death.
The main characters are burglars so instantly they are not likeable whatever their reasons are for doing so its still wrong, then by act 3 you find out the blind man is an even worse guy so all characters become disposable. I didn't mind the film as a one off but wont feel any need to revisit it. hopefully the sequel is a better story with better characters.
Dont Breathe is a very good movie with good characters really good villain, and shockingly scary Dialogue is scary as well when he speaks My one problem is once Rocky escapes she should of drove away didn't and the movie started to drag at that point but overall really good really suspense 90%
Before getting to the elephant in the room, let me talk about all the positives of the film. The film is very well directed. There is no shaky cam or overabundance of jump scares. It is a very tightly written film, items introduced into the story are utilized in various ways throughout the film. The movie optimizes silence and captures suspense and never gives the audience relief. It is also a novel set up, the thieves break in, and then find themselves having to break out. But with this unique premise, it leads to the movie's major flaw. I simply do not root for the characters on either side.
Highly predictable thriller, though some call it a psychological horror film that has some enjoyable moments. No character is likeable at all. You may be rooting for the blind man, but once his dark actions have been revealed, we root for nobody at all. The teens or young adults have no redeeming qualities. Alex may be the best, but once he realized that they were robbing a blind man who lost a daughter, he should have had the heart to call the thing off. He may have seemed like he was the weakest, but they needed him, which made him the strongest in a way. Certainly, the most powerful ― no Alex, no keys, no alarm system remote, nothing. Because Money was a terrible man, he would die first. It happened. The dog was going to wake up at a time that would trouble a character, and that happened. We knew that the blind man would be on the other side when Alex opened the cellar door. We knew that as soon as Rocky got out, the dog would be back chasing her, and once she felt safe, the blind man would have followed the noise and found her. All so predictable. Rocky would not die because 15 minutes were left in the movie. We also knew that he would never impregnate her because Alex would save her. What is enjoyable about that exactly? One thing that I did not predict was Alex falling through a window, pushed by the aforementioned dog. He had just said that they were trapped and all windows were barricaded, and some dog arrives and throws him out the window. Nonsensical. Years after the fact, we can now say that it even foreshadowed "Alien: Romulus." The blind man impregnates (or attempts to do so) young women, and he does not care for them. That is more or less how the Alien acts. The host gets killed and means nothing, but the baby does. Some guy complained about a blind man having lights in his place. That is being out of touch with reality. If that blind man happens to have visitors, they have eyes to see. They need a light. It could even be the police or the security firm. They need lights. Now, let us mention some positives: the thrilling ambience, getting right into the action once the blind man appears and has a gun, not making us wait till half-way through the movie to shoot the worst of the thieves, the claustrophobic atmosphere in the chute, and the rage-filled dog. Those are all positives. Ultimately, I will be nice and give it 5/10.
Just a really cool, original movie. Enjoyed it big time.
Sophisticated. Everybody has something to hide, and nobody is an angel.
By far my favorite horror/thriller movie.
This horrifying plot shows so many cruelties, but is also in touch with characters back story. Can see this being a great franchise.
i wasnt expecting much from this movie and damn i was very much wrong, one of the best movies i saw
Love these types of home invasion movies.
já vi esse filme mais doq uma vez, achei tão bom, esse diretor e essa atriz são foda
Came here to see who the new Alien film is being entrusted with; and some things are clear: Fede Alvarez makes a solid Hitchockian chiller and manages to do a lot with little and flirts well within the tropes of the home invasion/slasher horror, his camera roaming around in search of what may or may not lurk in the dark; the audio doing some serious heavy lifting and Stephen Lang as a tremendous disgusting, brilliant monster of a man. The film is tight, and surprising and the beats and gags of the genre are well-conceived, well-shot and are effective.
There are a few flaws, sure (the beginning partially spoiling how events proceed, Money with the gun letting the blind man get that close to him and disarm him without shooting him after warning him repeatedly, and probably the twist of Money's body getting stabbed with the shears instead of Alex which came across as not making much sense). Other than that this movie is great. Stephen Lang and Jane Levy performed well and literally the entire time you're on the edge of your seat with suspense and anticipation with what might happen next. The movie is disturbing but that's how you know it does well since it makes you really pay attention. THIS is how scary is done; unsettling, uncomfortable, but an unforgettable rush!
LOVED THIS MOVIE COULD NOT a STOP GASPING
