Don't Move Reviews

A stirring depiction of a predator who doesn’t want to play fair and his target who will fight back in any way possible.

| Original Score: B- | Mar 14, 2025

Though not overly original, ‘Don’t Move’ is an entertaining diversion with intense action sequences.

| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Feb 7, 2025

Give it a shot. Easy setup, good execution, and fine performances that give supporting faces the spotlight for once. You may think you know where it’s going, but will be turned around by a thrilling end that should have you cheering for Iris.

Don’t Move lacks finesse but packs an emotional gut punch amid a largely fulfilled promising premise.

The movie is exactly what its title suggests, an inert thriller that doesn’t go anywhere tense or interesting, and you might even find yourself not moving because you’re fallen asleep from the boredom of it all.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Nov 26, 2024

Directors Brian Netto and Adam Schindler have some fun with the scenario and build the tension effectively, though the final showdown is a washout.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Nov 13, 2024

A contrived thriller that begins well but ends badly.

| Original Score: C= | Nov 10, 2024

Handsomely shot by cinematographer Zach Kuperstein, propulsively directed by Schindler and Netto, and fiercely acted by Asbille and Wittrock, “Don’t Move” makes for a thoroughly satisfying watch-at-home escape.

It’s not bad...

I had fun with this movie. It’s a nifty idea for a thriller – “How do you escape a killer when you’re paralyzed?” Obviously, that’s ridiculous, but this is the kind of movie that writes itself into corners and finds ways out.

| Original Score: 6/10 | Nov 7, 2024

Don’t Move is a decent, unassuming and utterly unpretentious little thriller perfect for those nights when you really can’t be bothered to engage your brain and just fancy something that will keep you entertained for 90 minutes or so.

Don't move from your seat; the movie, with its more or less credible, plausible, or acceptable situations, will grab you. [Full review in Spanish]

The young cast provide just enough glow, unfortunately it's just not original enough to get ra-ra about, but the premise is solid.

Don't Move doesn't reinvent the psychological thriller genre, but it offers a harrowing, empowerment experience that deeply resonates... [Full review in Spanish]

| Original Score: 6/10 | Nov 3, 2024

A mildly entertaining thriller with a familiar premise, defined by tense moments and a high-stakes chase. The story lacks complexity and skimps on character depth, leaving much of its potential untapped.

Much of that is hoping the antagonist slips up, and while he may, things run out of steam at that revelation.

Sure, it’s about a suicidal woman regaining her will to live — so what if she needed a serial killer to give her a kick up the backside and not a spiritual guru? — but by the time the movie circles back to its emotional core, you'd be so done with it.

If you want a taut guilty pleasure, this’ll do the trick.

| Original Score: 2.5/4 | Oct 30, 2024

It’s ultimately disposable, crafted to snare attention for a quick streaming peak before fading into oblivion -- unlikely to be remembered, referenced, or missed ever again when it inevitably falls off the charts after a week.

Simple but interesting premises can sometimes make for decent films. The premise of Don't Move fits in this category.
