Was forced to watch by someone who I thought was my friend... she ended up having horrible bo problems later and yk what, she WOULD be the person to like this movie.

Of course the critics didnt like it because it is actually a funny movie. There are so many funny one-liners in this movie. The other great thing, its run time is only 90 minutes.

As much as I really want to find anything great about Down Periscope, almost everything from the lack of plot and the comedy and humour whilst there were some fun moments, does not always land.

Why does it always seem that some of the best comedy's are always those with extremely low critic vs audience scores? Great movie loved it for years, simple laughs.

The fact that critics gave this movie 11% is a straight up crime. In terms of military comedies, Down Periscope is top notch. Probably one of the best Rob Schneider straightman performances also! Shocked that this movie was never remade, but honestly the remake wouldn't be able to do it better.

I love this movie. My wife and I have seen it countless times. The fact that the critics don't like it confirms how good it is. Critics never like this kind of movie. It is cheesy greatness!!
