Mar 20, 2024

Dr Dolittle 2 is a great continuation of murphys dolittle films. With a great voice cast and plenty of laughs.

Dr. Dolittle 2 is a horrible boring movie. I watched it 2 years ago so it is not fresh in my mind, but Dr. Dolittle 2 does live to it's name. Do little to, because this movie does little to entertain the audience. I would not recommend this movie to anyone, and now I'm scared to watch the first one ( I didn't watch the first one because it was PG-13, but I recently looked at the common sense rating and it was 9 and older) Dr. Dolittle 2 will do little to make this movie do able to enjoy. What a boring movie

It's Surprisingly about as ok as the first one. The acting is ok in this, it ahs the same problems the first had with one dimensional human characters and villains except Dolittle who is not as charming as in the first as his performance is more toned down but acceptable. While there is more focus on animals like Archie in this his humor falls flat most of the time and the other animals in this while fewer still are just more gimmicky than actual depth than anything else. The cinematography is about on par with the first being forgettable with basic camerawork. The music is ok also with a weird mix of R&B and generic cinematic music. The editing is ok here but it lacks focus as the stories of Archie, Dolittle, and his family problems never really come together and feel separate. This isn't a long film either so the pacing is acceptable. The main problem besides the one dimensional characters is the jokes which take away from any charm or sincerity to the film, especially the stupid toilet humor just like the first one. Once again if this idea had been given more love and treated more seriously this could've been more memorable and charming. If you REALLY like the first one than watch this. Otherwise you can pass, Murphy isn't as memorable here.

Bonitinho, não tão bom quanto o primeiro, mas mantém a linha do fofinho, com o ursinho playboy marrentinho… A surpresinha fica por conta da aparição do dom na filha, bem bonitinho esse momento família-emocionante...

A hilarious sequel that happens to be more family-friendly and better than the original. This one from Eddie Murphy got me laughing the whole way through especially the animals🍿

42% "Painfully corny and too bland on its sequence level, "Dr. Dolittle 2" proves that not only a sequel has to extend a PG rating with stale potty humor and undeniable celebrity results".

I thought this movie was funny. It's worth watching.

The animal characters were hilarious! The human characters are just annoying. They could have made a movie just with animals and it would have been perfect. 8/10!

A more watered down version of the original that still has way too much bathroom humor.

Good watch, if weird, might watch again, and can recommend, if you like movies with animals. It is really weird to have a Disney movie be all about sexing. I'm very sex positive, and I think we should have more open discussions about it in mixed-age crowds....but this makes a lot of jokes at its expense and sends that mixed message about sometimes sex is a good thing, but not when it comes to our daughters, so its really weird to start this review like this. If we get over that hill, this sequel takes a rather natural angle of nature versus industrial development with a really positive message about preserving what we can of nature, and what some of the real hurdles are on both the preservation side and the development side. While he has his moments, Steve Zahn's voice is not a moment I would pick and extend over the length of a movie, nor would I have picked Lisa Kudrow, but she actually performed very well, her portrayal fit Eva very well. I'm honestly not sure I can pick out any new animal voices I actually liked in this one, but the writing definitely got more complex. While there is a lot of symbolism of what a man (/bear) is, there is actually a lot balancing between Dolittle's relationships amongst the animals, Archie, his wife, his daughter(s), and his business. The writing while not as entertaining, personally, as the first movie definitely had growth and an intricate structure, but I think the subject matter hampered it a bit. Unfortunately, the story closes up a bit, and the only natural evolution of the story is what they ended up doing for the 3rd movie. I won't spoil anything here though.

The difference between this movie and the last one are somewhat subtle, but they made all the difference in the world for my viewing experience. I didn't perceive every (or even most) of the jokes to be directly about pooping and I got solid dad-laughs at some of the dumber jokes (like having the Raven say "Nevermore" as it flew away) and a lot of the joke premises that missed in the first movie were dropped in this one, like Eddie overreacting to being near animals. I didn't like how melodramatic they made the subplot about his daughter's teenage angst, but they didn't spend a ton of the movie on it and so it was good. The voice cast was almost disappointingly large as notable actors ended up with one line or scene in the movie at times. The editing was a little clumsy and jarring, but that may've been from watching the made-for-온라인카지노추천 release.

This is a prime example of trying to carry on a movie that doesn't need a sequel.

Everything that you didn't like in the original is back, and crammed down your throat.

While the movie is of a lesser quality in comparison the more above-average nature of the first film, the decent, if more restrained, performance from Eddie Murphy and the humour make it a passable family film despite its lighter and softer compared to its PG-13 predecessor (yeah, I know, PG-13 family films).

Imaginary but entertaining. Childishly more entertaining than the first one.
