Eat Wheaties! Reviews
A sweet, almost melancholic at times, telling of the story of Sid Straw, a man who becomes obsessed with famous actress Elizabeth Banks when he rediscovers that he knew her in college. After hoops and obstacles after trying to get her attention, his safe and unassuming life suddenly gets shaken up and he has to face who he wants to be for the rest of his life after a life of trying to scrape by. It's a sweet movie but it wasn't captivating until about midway through, so I'd call it a slow burn. In the end, it is a satisfying, comedic story with plenty of stars to accompany your watch along the way. With sitcom favorites Tony Hale, Lamorne Morris, Alan Tudyk, Sarah Chalke, and David Walton, it's easy to get a laugh and point at all the faces from various modern sitcoms everyone watches.
I loved the storyline, and this is a must watch for all Tony Hale fans. Great cast all the way around, though!
Loved it! Would definitely recommend for a fun movie that will put a smile on your face
This movie is a feel good comedy. I found it funny without an excessive messaging. Just an old fashioned fun movie.
Every once in a while you come across a little obscure movie that you just know is going to become a cult classic and one you'll watch over and over. That's this movie for me. I just loved Sid.
I liked this. I've been Sid. A few times in life, I've been treated like an outcast by unfriendly people. Along the way, I've had to socially acclimate to different social settings and it wasn't always easy. It stood out to me how mean people can be to this very kind character just because he was socially different. I've regretted that there have been times when I was on the mean side of this equation. This was worth my time. At times, it made me feel cringy, sad, and warmed in the heart. I enjoyed the quirky humor. Well done.
Not what I was expecting at all this was actually sad but guy was a creep 2.2. Almost feel bad for the real actor that it was so easy to believe
So so so so good!!! It's so heartwarming and funny and cringey and silly!!! Tony Hale is AMAZING! Just watch it! Great family movie!!!
Everything was just OK. We love Tony Hale, but, we were hoping to laugh out loud like we did in his other shows. His character didn't need to go from goofy to creepy.
A great feel-good comedy with the perfect amount of seriousness and awkwardness layered in. The whole cast was great by the Tony Hale/Paul Walter Hauser dynamic was amazing and you cannot help but laugh when the two of them are on screen together.
Funny, witty, quirky cast of characters in this light hearted comedy! We loved the timing too; after spending a year in lockdowns and living through virtual connections, we enjoyed watching Sid (Tony Hale) attempt to navigate the social media world. Great movie and story, plus we know and love so many of the actors from other projects!
Clever, thoughtful and funny! Would recommend to watch with your partner :)
Tony Hale and the whole cast were fantastic. The movie is laugh out loud funny, with an added heartwarming twist. The director made a 5 star film!
