Ruined by the crass decisions of the two main characters. Nearly ended up thinking they deserved it.

It is a very well done movie-If you ever wondered what a terrifying display of violence that ends with all the good people dead-it’s a well done movie. The acting was great and believable but again you are watching good people being mercilessly murdered with no hope, no recourse. It left me sick -you wanted to see the main character survive and kill the bad guys instead only the more innocent people die-bleak, dark and disturbing.

We are greeted with the unlikely scenario of a well to do couple heading to a disused quarry for a weekend of fun. How likely is this ? The setting far from being ideal is obviously adjacent to a working class conurbation and is frequented by feral youths. I have to ask myself If I would have taken my fiancé to a disused quarry. In a gory rehash of 'Deliverance' ( i think that was the intention ) We see our protagonists do battle with the feral youths. On the whole a distasteful waste of 90 minutes, without hope, without direction and relying solely on blood and gore to carry it to it's questionable conclusion. We are better than this.

An underrated film. It has a tense mix of thriller and horror with a great ending

A great film with an epic ending

This was overall very well directed with mostly believable characters and action. The acting was all very good, with Ms. Reilly as the obvious standout. But, I am pretty disappointed. SPOILERS BELOW: This film lost me with its ending. The whole thing is brutally bleak and really makes the viewer feel for what Jenny is going through and how tough she is to keep going and keep trying. And then it ends with the strong implication that the bad guys win and get away with it all. Luckily we do not see Jenny's final moments but this twist just turned me off on the whole thing. I understand the desire to present a film that does not end on a happy note but this was going too far. It makes everything we watched prior to that ending not much more than an exercise in showing a strong likeable character being treated horribly and surviving for no reason. This character that the viewer comes to like and root for gets a very dismal end just for the sake of a shocking ending that left me wishing I hadn't watched it after all.

More people should be talking about this film. Wonderfully executed

An outstanding thriller with a horrific outcome for the characters. One if my favourite of all time

Quite possibly the worst pile of trash passing as a movie I've ever seen. Infuriatingly stupid.

This is a superb horror flick with relentless tension and unpredictable ending. The people who say that they were not surprised by the story, I would like to know their living circumstances or on second thought I will pass. A loving couple have plans for a romantic weekend camping. The girl is a caring kindergarten teacher. The man has bought her an engagement ring. At some point the girl wears the ring. Do they live happily ever after? It depends whether you believe in afterlife. It is a bleak story with bad things accumulating right to the end. Since we are in UK this extreme violence is perpetrated without any firearms. This is the movie for viewers who believe that people are evil. The rest better stay away. On Prime.

This movie is terrible! The writing of it is awful!!! Who in their right mind would write something like this? The storyline is pure violence. I would never recommend this movie to anyone! Very disappointed and shocked that Kelly Riley would be in this movie! Wow, just wow 🤬🤬🤬

Eden Lake is about a young couple from the south of England, who go camping by none other than `Eden Lake' in the midlands, as part of a romantic getaway. However, their plans go slightly astray when they run into a bunch of local kids - a situation which quickly descends into a pretty gruesome encounter. There's not too much new in the way of plot, but what I thought elevated it above the normal `real' horror films (i.e. those without monsters or killer video tapes) is that the two central characters do the things that most sane people would do. In other words, they try to escape, rather than run around in circles like headless chickens. There you have it - a group of youngsters stalks an innocent couple (think `Deliverance' but with Chavs). If that's your thing, you might like it. It's kind of like one of those `home invasion' movies (only not at home, obviously) like Funny Games or The Strangers. However, it also (believe it or not) raises a few more questions than your average film of the genre. Some have commented on how it portrays `middle-class' as `good' and `poor' as `bad,' not to mention a few other shocks and surprises that I won't go into. Perhaps your enjoyment of the film depends on who you empathise with more. Check online - there are some interesting comments made regarding the (obvious) villains of the film. Of course, if you don't want to delve too deeply, just enjoy it for a pretty nasty horror ordeal.

ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!!!!!

I give it one star because it is well framed. Half a star because excellent boobs and half a star for leaving me well disappointed at the end. No star for story, the decision making is just eye rolling, face palming decision making. Like really, you are gunna walk inside a gangs house? "Hello?" *Enters* Please, just no. No star for....nope, no more stars.

Boring, predictable, definitely not disturbing unless your talking about how stupid the couple was. I gave it half star just cause I liked the smart mouth girlfriend getting bulldozed.

This was a horrible film. I don't understand why it has even a 78% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The characters were shallow and predictable. There is absolutely no clue as to why the gang of youths acts the way they do, and the ending makes 0 sense. The ending just makes the movie feel even more pointless and dumb.

Wth was that ending. Can’t get that time back….

The movie is only good at being disturbing. Bad, cheap writing.
