Filme mais ou menos, o roteiro é fraco, a história do filme ficou meio fraca, as cenas são bacaninhas, mas o elenco quase não ajudou em nada no filme.

Great movie and at the time a 23 year old director.on a budget of 7 k...yes...7k....200k post production.The first in the trilogy that later had desperado and once upon a time in mexico.Must see.

I think I've seen every one of Rodriguez's films, even spy kids and still nothing compares to his freshman project imo. Maybe because it was made on a shoestring budget he had to be super creative and precise with his every choice... and it clearly shows. But to me it's a great film not despite the budget, but regardless of the budget...at any price, it's a work of art as far as cinematography and immensely entertaining, funny, sexy and especially impressive to me, it was violent with a purpose not just for the sake of it and not gratuitous. I thought T2 was the best action movie of the year it was made (1991) and honestly this comes close, and may be more charming imo. It's Just oozing with personality and charm and better than all the big budget Hollywood movies by the director to come that seem to replace the charm with production value.

I’ve been meaning to watch this film for a long time, but when it left Pluto I ran out of options. Well it came back for this month only, and I knew I had to give it my time. Now that I’ve sat down and truly watched it I just got to say that was so much better than expected. It’s like a Leone Spaghetti Western, and a Blaxsploitation movie had an awesome baby. The unbelievably low budget allows for the creativity and passion to just ooze out of every corner of the film. This film proves how great of a director Robert Rodriguez really is, and was definitely worth the watch. Unfortunately I’m deducting a star because of my own fault, I don’t know Spanish and you can’t expect a dub to do a movie much justice. 4/5 stars, great film and was definitely worth every second of my time.

He might be a big name in Hollywood today, but back in the early 90s, the then 23-year-old Robert Rodriguez made the film El Mariachi more or less on his own, with a paltry budget, and his career subsequently took off. I'd heard a lot of things about this movie, mostly about how it was constructed around the dearth of funds, and having seen it, I'm honestly surprised how well they did with so little. It doesn't tell the most original story or have the most fleshed out characters, but it takes what it has and does the best it can with it, giving us a movie which is both admirable and entertaining. I loved how the films 2 storylines kept crossing over in the smartest ways, and the action scenes, while stripped down for monetary reasons, are still pretty exciting, if you can get over the fact that the close-up style of directing effectively removes any sense of spatial geography. I had no idea where any characters were in relation to each other and its clear that, even when they're in a chase scene, the actors are passing by the same places over and over again. The ending is a bit anti-climactic, but since most of the budget would have been spent by then, I can understand why it turned out that way. Issues aside, El Mariachi is a damn good film that put a popular and influential filmmaker on the map, and shows that, when it comes to movies, if the story being told is compelling, everything else will fall into place.

I thought it was really pretty good. The voice dubbing is poor, though. Otherwise, really good flick. 8/10

El Mariachi plays like a Breaking Bad fever dream. Surprisingly intense and consistently fun, it's a guarantee that you'll be impressed by its inherently silly but altogether believable narrative. Made for a mere $7,000 and boasting a cast of thoroughly talented amateurs, El Mariachi is a must-see for lovers of independent cinema.

This one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Bad Spanish (accent, pace, and grammar,) terrible acting, bad continuity. The cinematography is mediocre and the story has no twist, surprises, or creativity.

With a low budget, and a simple story this film manages to bring to life two spectacular sequels, much better than this film when compared.

The nerve-racking and mind-boggling pace disguises any budget constraints and demonstrates how skilled Robert Rodriguez is.

Included some unorthodox cinematographic tricks and featured a subversive plot line. Sections of the film were a true testament of its dirt-cheap budget, but ultimately the creativity won over. -Go

With a nearly little to no budget, El Mariachi is a pretty entertaining action movie with stylish direction by rookie director Robert Rodriguez and some decent action sequences.
