This movie should be watched today . The way we see characters has to have changed. Such a clever movie, loved it.

Alexander Payne is one of the best modern directors at depicting uncomfortable scenes, which this dark comedy takes to disturbing levels that reflect our reality. Despite having a plot propelled by immoral actions, it has aged a lot better than its contemporaries, like “American Beauty”, because of its dedication to depicting social injustices in an authentic manner. Ferris Bueller, Matthew Broderick, has grown into the antagonistic force that tried to ruin the Day Off, a petty educator. Being cast as Jim McAllister allows the character to start in the audience’s favor, until the mask falls off, revealing a hilariously pathetic man struggling with his insignificance. Reese Witherspoon gives one of her best performances as Tracy Flick, a complicated character who is ambition personified, allowing her to win over any adversary by pure persistence.

One of the best crafted comedies and satires I have ever seen. Election is an amazing and hilarious film, prominently featuring narration which is very well done, and great performances from all of the leads. I find it very interesting that Payne somehow gets us to root for the villain and hate the girl who didn't really do anything wrong, because if you think about it, Jim McAllister does much worse things than Tracy Flick does. A rare comedy that cares about the filmmaking as much as the plot and humor, I'd vote for Election.

An incredibly funny and satirizing film of politics, self-delusion and lack or morality, all in the setting of a common high school! The characters are humorously narrating themselves with a sense of self-importance that makes them surprisingly relatable. As the election to class president heats up and the irony increases, we're left in stitches as the circumstances get more bizarre and amoral as you can get!

Hilarious political satire that shows politics don't change much from high school. The cast is brilliant across the board, with Reese Witherspoon superb as Tracy Flick, an overly ambitious student who scares her teacher (a brilliant Matthew Broderick) so much he tries to sabotage her election. Behind the camera, Alexander Payne delivers a hilarious comedy pointing out the absorbing of politics and elections (at one point, the most popular candidate is the one who promises to dissolve the student government). Just a great, hilarious film from beginning to end.

Hilarious showdown between a tightly wound type-A over-acheiver student and her Grinch of a teacher; which culminates in one of the funniest high school election scenes ever. The acting is great. It's great to see Legally Blonde face off with Ferris Buehler. (It's also great to see the tables turn on Broderick where another precocious hotshot student is humiliating him now; just like he humiliated Rooney in Buehler!) A modest comedy; but still Very funny and definitely worth seeing.

In the Era of when Hollywood was out of original ideas and starting to rely too much on CGI this is one of those films that stands out as not only an exception but a Classic of its genre & era. The acting in this is very good with Reese Witherspoon stealing the show and having great chemistry with Broderick. The cinematography is very well done in this. Most camera shots are very well framed and the settings/lighting are all very well done. The only knit pick I have is there can be too many wide angles looking directly into the camera sometimes and the school setting can be boring and bland but the director does a great job making well done shots regardless. The music was good also. The editing and pacing are both very well done as well feeding off a very sharp and witty script with the perfect blend of smart & dark jokes at just the right pace. This film does a excellent job at blending a coming of age story with a high school comedy which is a incredibly hard feat. It was a bit predictable at times I felt but still very well done and kept me interested the whole way through. I would easily recommend this to anyone that's a fan of any of the actors in this, 90-00's comedies, or high school dramas. Very surprised how good this was.

This is very much a quirky, M온라인카지노추천 type film. The characters are somewhat stereotyped, with the high school swot and the sports jock. Its a reasonably easy watch I suppose, although there are some sex references and strong language present at times, its perhaps a little crude, which might embarrass some I suppose. The cast are good and its amusing at times.I suppose really its about pettiness, in different ways. I thought it was a pretty entertaining and reasonably good film overall - its not especially long, which is just as well I'd say. If this interests you, I'd say its worth a watch - its not brilliant but its pretty good.

I saw nothing but positive reviews for this movie so I thought I'd add my 2 cents. I didn't finish the movie. I watched a little less than half as this movie was going somewhere I didn't care to go. The characters were all unlikeable and the worldview was perverse. In a word it seemed pointless. What was that about with the other teacher having an affair w/ Witherspoon's character? I saw one funny scene when the younger sister was giving her election speech. Otherwise, it was all pretty dire. Don't bother.
