Elf Reviews
Is this movie high art? No Is this movie winning any awards? No Did I laugh alot and feel good whilst watching it? Hell Yes This does what you need it to, make you smile, laugh and just forget some of your troubles for 90min and remember that most humans actually just want to be happy
Elf is an entertaining and interesting film for those who are keen on family/fantasy/adventure/Comedy films. It is one of the best healthy comedies I have seen. Story of the movie is not at all complicated; it is depicted in a very simple way. The unnecessary elements from the script have been removed impressively. We may could have more of the characterisation of Jovie, Papa Elf, and Emily as we are still left with not knowing much about their main characteristics that differ them from others. Will Ferell does show us his acting talents in this very movie very well. The speed of the movie is suitable and in harmony with the runtime of one hour and thirty seven minutes. Apart from the exciting world the movie drowns us into, we could see the kind messages of the importance of family and the spirit of Christmas. However, people who tend to think so realistically while watching a movie might find it hard to enjoy. Overall, Elf (2003) is a fantasy comedy movie which is worth watching with family members and I strongly recommend it myself. It is a barrel of laughs.
Its just Will Farrel walking in New York, and being crazy and loud, in an Elf costume. Its not too bad, but not something worth putting under the tree.
It was an okay Christmas movie but wouldn’t watch it again.
Supreme crap. Will Ferrell isn’t remotely even funny.
Not a bad movie, but I'm so tired of Elf after watching it during most of my classes in Highschool. Every. Single. Year. It ruined the movie for me. I just find it annoying now.
Never liked Will Ferrel, ruins every movie he's in, but ELF is probably the only passable one he's in. Anyone could've done his job though in this film, it's the script & story that makes this movie good.
Cheesy but so fun to watch! Full of holiday spirit.
Fun for the whole family
Modern classic. Instead of watching the same junk movies set during Christmas this one is ACTUALLY a Christmas movie!!
All ages admitted, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Para mi la mejor película clásica navideña. Más que una película de humor es un cuento clásico de navidad. CUENTO lo resalto. For me, the best classic Christmas movie. More than a comedy movie, it is a classic Christmas tale. I emphasize this as a TALE.
Movie got a great start but then theres lots of poor writing and acting. I really like Will Ferrell but this aint a good work from him. Lot of weird stuff and cringe stuff
Charming holiday comedy movie. Can entertain both the kids and adults. Has great humor and can also provide serious scenes that make you love family and the holidays.
I dont get the hype around this film
Very enjoyable Christmas movie. Definitely worth the whole family to watch year after year.
Very average, over rated. James Cann fantastic and Will Ferrall good but the story is weak
The ultimate Christmas cheer movie ever made. The story follows Will Ferrell as buddy the rather large elf, seeking his dad (James Caan) in the human realm. The acting, the laughs and the fun all run in precisionly timed step. Absolutely hilarious, unforgettable moments that will live long in the minds of all ages for many many years to come. Excellent direction by Jon Favreau.
Gets better every time I watch it.
Elf is the perfect Christmas movie. Probably the best of all time. It's filled with humour, emotion, festive spirit and more humour. Will Ferrell was the perfect casting for the role of Buddy the Elf along with James Caan as Walter Hobbs and Zooey Deschanel as Jovie. There are loads of heartwarming character arcs belongs to characters such as Jovie, Michael and by far the best one Walter. His character arcs shows him change from a Christmas hating workaholic who doesn't seem to care about his family or basically anything that isn't related to work, to a kind man who embraces the Christmas spirit fully. Overall I think that Elf is an outstanding movie perfect for watching with the family over the holiday season.
