Still can’t stand Will Smith who constantly appears in love with himself. The first five minutes of this oeuvre was enough for me. In the introduction some bad guys press a politician to vote a particular way and when he refuses they kill him. Presumably no one will replace him. In the next scene Will Smith Esq asks a secretary to send someone a case of Chianti. Chianti is an Italian wine made by different producers and at many price levels. A sophisticated lawyer would know what to send. Otherwise it is like ordering “a glass of red wine “. Yes, attention to detail is what makes a movie believable.

Tense, fast paced thriller with Will Smith and Gene Hackman. What could go wrong? Movie is well done, although it was filmed for ADHD afflicted meth junkies. I think probably the biggest ding is the premise is dated. In modern day America, the govt is spying on us and taking away our civil liberties! Yeah, so? The NSA killed a senator! Yeah, so? They do that stuff all the time. Yikers!

It's alright, it feels repetitive through some its scenes and the ending shootout resolution does not really mesh well with the tech fueled surveillance plot it focused on during its entire runtime.

Not a bad film. Gene Hackman is always good, and Will Smith is OK. I'm not big on action films, but this one has an intelligent plot going for it.

An Action Thriller Classic. Solid cinematography and soundtrack. It can be a bit basic and the lighting can be a bit dull due to it raining and being cloudy most of the time and sometimes the direction isn't as strong as other times. I do wish the music was a bit more catchy on it's own and it can blend in sometimes too. Everything else is really good though. This can get very complicated with what feels like 2 different plot lines going on with uncovering the plot line with Rachael and the actual video tape. It does come together in the end though in a True Romance style ending (both with Tom Sizemore ironically enough). There are a couple plot conviences like how Smith just happens to be shopping for lingere when the chase happens. Hackmans whole character being a walking intelligence god who basically dominates the second half so much at times it feels like Smith becomes forgotten about at times. The two do have good chemistry though. It can be a little difficult to follow with such an extreme plot and the action which is well done can get in the way of the big government watching message. But it's a great time and smart enough where it balances thrills with wit. Anyone who is a fan of any actors in this, Tony Scott, or thrillers will like this. Especially political ones.

This movie was a bit confusing. The whole story is that the 'enemy' is trying to pass a bill to gain control monitoring and seeing everything that goes on, but in the movie it looks like that already is the case. The movie itself isn't bad, it just depends to much on that big brother fenomenon and is just a bit too sci-fi for the genre/goal of the movie. The ending is smart yet lazy at the same time which makes me pretty confused as to what really happend. All in all the writing and acting is decent but it rely's just too much on that sci-fi aspect. 5/10 for me.

It's so hard to like this movie when Robert (Will Smith) is bafflingly stupid. I understand not being apart of the spy world but the fact that he just doesn't listen. He NEVER listens and that's why there's so many problems because he's just brain dead and it ruins everyone else's lives; Rachel (Lisa Bonet) & Brill (Gene Hackman.) JUST. LISTEN. Dumbass.

A really good thriller.

The subject of the surveillance state is important but not well served by approaching it as an action thriller. Highly packed with acting talent and car chases, but the struggle seems quaint here in the post PATRIOT ACT world.

The content, direction, and visuals of this movie are all good. I don't get bored watching it again and again

The director and the actors have done a good job of showing how dangerous corruption is in this movie. It has become a very interesting movie that reminds us how corruption is still present in our lives and how to avoid it.

In my opinion, the movie uses very good camera and audio visual equipment and the crew members and the filmmakers have played their roles very well. I really liked it.

Uma pessoa filma o assassinato e a cara de Thomas como mandante. E quando é descoberto inicia uma caçada implcavel. Mas antes de ser atropelado ele esbarra com Robert e coloca o vídeo em sua sacola. E quando os assassinos não encontram a fita e descobre que esta com Robert a caçada vai agora para ele. Sua vida é destruída e Rachel que também não tem nada haver é morta. Então surge Edward para vingar sua morte e desmascarar tudo com sendo um ex- agente. E começa uma grande corrida de rato e gato. Até que ao final quando Robert e Edward armam uma arapuca para eles com um mafioso local. E assim virá uma chacina e temos um final feliz. Roteiro e enredo muito bem elaborado e inteligente. Faz uma mistura, mas ao final da certo. E poder ver Gene Hackman e Jon Voight atuando, vale o filme. Vale apena assistir? Sim recomendo. Nota: 8,75

The nerdiest and flashiest hi-tech movie that features the nerdiest cast of characters. And, frankly, Tony Scott is a nerd for cannibalizing the ending from a pervious movie he filmed, True Romance, which was originally created & written for the screen by Quentin Tarantino.

Rare you fine a movie with one flaw. Just will smith stunt double was visibly a stunt double lol
