Escape Room Reviews
It's a creative premise and suspenseful atmosphere, but falls short in terms of depth and character development. Directed by Adam Robitel, the movie follows a group of strangers who are invited to participate in what they think is a fun, high-stakes escape room, only to quickly realize that the puzzles they must solve are deadly and designed to kill. There aren't any major overall complaints from me, I just feel like there wasn't anything that could've made this a fantastic movie. And for me that's all this movie was lacking. I honestly didn't like that they put that first foreshadowing scene in there.
This still remains as one of my favourite movies!!! Brilliant from start to finish.
It was good as far as escape room movies go, but it wasn’t a new idea or anything super unique. I enjoyed it though!
The production design for each of the rooms are fantastic but i wish it had a story and cast that I could care about
Had to skip the first 20 minutes of boring nonsense where characters are introduced in the slowest way possible. The actors are good but very weak script and overall just far too unrealistic and very very very stupid at times. Quit half way through.
Escape Room (2019) kicks off with an intriguing premise that instantly hooks you. The movie thrives on its creative and visually impressive room designs, with each puzzle adding layers of tension and suspense. It’s fast-paced and keeps you entertained throughout, making it an enjoyable watch for fans of thrillers and puzzle-based challenges. However, the emotional connection with the characters feels thin, which slightly dampens the impact of the stakes. You’ll root for their survival but probably won’t remember much about them once the credits roll. The ending, while tying into the sequel, leaves you with a sense of incompleteness, an all-too-common trend in franchise filmmaking that can feel tiresome. Sometimes, you just want a self-contained story that offers closure without setting up the next installment. That said, the movie is still fun for what it is, especially if you’re not expecting deep storytelling. It’s a visually engaging, suspenseful ride that’s worth watching, even if it doesn’t leave a lasting emotional impression
hated this movie to my core. this felt like a copied saw movie made for a high school project as if saw was'nt already bad enough
I love this movie. Super interesting premise; and the acting really pulls it together. I’ve came back to this movie several times over the past few years.
I enjoyed it more than I was expecting. The escape rooms were cleverly done, acting was great, a reasonable ending. It's not a horror a such, in fact I'm not too sure what you would call it, but the tension was present as they tried to solve each room in time. great fun.
Es una historia que me llego a atrapar. Soy fan de este tipo de juego pero el creador de este si que se fue al extremo, me gusto la idea del director de esta pelicula.
I enjoyed this movie. Very exciting and adventurous as they try to escape the game. Not really a horror movie but more of a thriller. You got to check it out! I watched it on Hulu.
A mostly PG-13 take on the Saw franchise. It's neither incredibly fear inducing nor the set-up for a sequel really necessary, but it's pay off is perfectly fine due to good acting and consequently more unhinged set designs.
I went into this movie know nothing about it or seeing any trailers. It is around Halloween and I wanted a horror/intense movie and this is what I chose. I may be the outlier here, but I did nit hate that movie. I thought it was very entertaining. Entertaining does not always equal good, but it was a fun ride. I liked some of the characters more than others and was rooting for characters to stay alive. I expected what happened at the end, but the follow up near the end where they reveal more was unexpected. I enjoyed it and would recommend a watch.
Interesting premise, but bad execution.
Had some great scenes. I did really like movie, the plot was a little thin and a bit of stretch to pull it together. But it was entertaining
Great movie. Right amount of comedy and horror and great cliff hanger at the end
This movie is like Saw but without the blood, guts, and torture. I also throughly enjoyed trying to solve the rooms before the characters.
I am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy this movie. The plot is old & have seen other versions. The artistry of their sets won me over. Best one of this genre. Intend to watch the sequel, as it is set up beautifully at the end of this film.
I thought it was pretty good
Great horror flick with killer deaths
