Eureka Reviews
I love slow film- but this film is pretentiously long with nothing to say. it’s like the director watched Kelly Reichardt’s Certain Women and wanted to recreate the temperament but didn’t know why. the direction is quite weak, all actors don’t seem to feel much of anything when they speak their lines. they don’t seem to mean anything. disappointing
I suppose there's something to be said about letting a viewer sit for a long time on nearly every scene in a film to really get the feel of what the filmmaker is trying to say. That said, "Eureka" is indistinguishable from laziness in filmmaking. Scenes go on and on and on. Even if you cut this film in half it would still be pretty weak at best. Oh, and Viggo is in it for about 20 of the 143 minutes this bore provides.
I detested the pacing, and didn't really see the point in this film. Most of it's run-time was really boring.
