The main twist is SO predictable. The characters just do ridiculous things no need for backstory or motivation here. A perfect example of why the Popcornmeter review isn't to be trusted.

Great suspenseful movie.Great acting

The movie was entertaining with a twist ending. I'd recommend it.

I could barely hear what they were saying especially the doc,whispers and mumbles it got so frustrating. I liked the gloomy feel of the movie. Most times it felt like watching car adverts. The movie was very predictable but a good thriller nonetheless.

The actors tried their best to work with the poor storyline and bad narrative but it ultimately couldn't save this bleak thriller from being mediocre at best.

I enjoyed this movie. Dont know why it got such bad reviews. Sam Claflin was excellent as always and the other actors/characters slotted into place nicely. Would deffinately recommend it.

A drunk acting Casey with annoying ladies adding soap opera drama into this movie... there is nothing good about it. It is actually disturbing to waste time watching this.

The main character googled someone to do background on them. OBVIOUSLY that google search would have netted an actual photo of that person. If he saw that photo the entire movie would just not have happened. This movie was flat out horrible. Please dear god do not watch it

So bad. Normally love Casey Affleck but he may as well have just read his lines. It's like he wasn't even acting. Zero chemistry between him and his daughter, friends, wife .. I felt the daughter was the best out of them all. The wife was not at all believable. The 'bad' guy was supposed to be a complex character I assume, but wasn't. The whole plot was obvious and not entertaining. We all knew how it was going to end. So predictable. Nothing going for it. No twist. Boring. Best thing - the scenery. I wouldn't bother.

Meh. A thriller that is predictable is a thriller that misses the mark. Other than a tiny twist or two at the end the major thriller plot line was pretty transparent (psycho boyfriend going over the edge). I should have known it wouldn't be that great. Things that include Casey Affleck seem to be lower tier.

Partendo di fatto da una trama poco originale, che per un thriller che punta molto sul climax è un bel tallone d'Achille; il risultato finale è molto buono. Nonostante i "colpi di scena" siano prevedibili, si crea comunque una costante suspense, soprattutto grazie al tris di attori protagonisti assolutamente formidabili e alle loro performance complementari. Si parte da quella meno appariscente e più introspettiva di Affleck, passando per quella sensuale e fragile della Monahan e finendo con quella più esplicita e pazza di un Claflin in versione villain. Un buon thriller seppure i difetti per i "puristi" sono abbastanza evidenti.

The Director makes ample use of the relentless mist of the Pacific North West to create an oppressive atmosphere as well as eliciting enigmatic performances from the two male leads, but is forever shackled by a tedious recycled script.Is this all they've got left on the shelves in Hollywood? Then the last one to leave should turn out the light.
